After staying - since 2000 - at the sister hotel "Garden Beach" I decided this year to book into the new Athenee! Both hotels share the grounds, the management and the majority of the staff so it came as no surprise to me that the quality was excellent! This year I visited the hotel both in June and September.
Dinner is served as a buffet each night and a feast for the tastebuds (traditional Sicilian dishes, italian and international). Breakfast offers a large variety (quite unusual for the Mediterranean area) of dishes. Lunch is served at the table and can be booked either as part of the package or you can reserve per day.
The rooms are spacious and very clean, the bathrooms well designed and comfortable. All staff are helpful, friendly and polite and are trying their best to make your holiday memorable.
The beauiful gardens and pools (all 3 + one semi-covered) are very well maintained. The beach could do with a bit of attention but there are ample umbrella's and beachbeds.
The location of the resort is somewhat isolated, the hotel bus offers transportation to Cefalu (3x per day) and a number of other sites but if you would like to get about a bit the best advice is to rent a car.
