“Utterly amazing food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

We visited this restaurant on our first day at Sicily. The restaurant from the outside isn't that welcoming but as soon as we sat down all my impressions changed! As I already said, the food was amazing! First we were served a variety of raw fish antipasti (also marinated) and after a variety of cooked antipasti such as king prawns, muscles etc. I must admit that i had never tasted such good fish antipasti! we were then served pasta such as nero di sepia and others. To finish the meal, we were served limoncino or coffee. one thing that struck me is that you only pay EUR30 per person and all the drinks, coffee, wine etc was included in the price unlike other restaurants where the price includes only food and you'll have to pay for the beverages separately!
I will definitely re-visit this restaurant next time i'm in Sicily and i totally recommend it to you!

“Excellent restaurant for all fish lovers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

As the other reviews describe, the Incognito was a truly enjoyable experience. We were a table of 7 adults and 3 children, and had the set menu, though we didn't know what to expect and ordered seperate food for the children (wouldn't have done that if we knew what was coming as they helped themselves to our antipasti and ended up wasting food). The antipasti are abundant and varied, we were still plating and other antipasti kept being served! When they told us the cold antipasti had all been served, they started to serve an array of hot antipasti. This was followed by the best linguine al nero di seppia we tasted so far, and gnocchi con gamberi. Prices are reasonable (around EUR30 per person including wines and drinks). Already recommended this restaurant and would definitely like to return!

“Too much food waisted without a reason”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012 via mobile

It is one of those places so popular in Sicily where there is a so-called 'fixed menu' which mainly means that you can't chose your own meal and the price you pay is always the same. In the case of this particular restaurant the food you eat is mainly fish. They bring you a lot of it- so much you can't see anymore which seems a bit of a waste

“Flavours of the Med served in a creative way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2011

I have been to the Trattoria Incognito few times and every time has been a fantastic culinary experience. I usually choose their set menu that consist in more than 20 starters and two pasta dishes all made by using the freshest seafood ingredients. The great thing about this place are the starters and that many dishes have been created and served in an unusual way, for example one of my favorite are the prawns with seasons fruit and veg or the smoked swordfish with melon, pistachio nuts and honey. Service is excellent!!! Very good value for money. If you are in the Catania's area this place is a MUST! - be advised that the restaurant is only open for Lunch and I strongly suggest you to book a table well in advance as they are always very busy.
