I spent 7 days at Il Limoneto (10 to 17 October 2011) with my wife and my elder son. We chose the location for several reasons: 1) we excluded hotels from the start because we wanted something new 2) the comments from TripAdvisor were of great value to us 3) we looked for a location between Catania and Taormina (the complex is located near Scillichenti - Acireale).
"Il Limoneto" offers accommodation in several apartment houses in the middle of a lemon tree grove. We experienced the tranquility and the magnificent views of Etna and the Ionian Sea. Access - only by car (we rented it from the Fontanarossa airport). I recommend other Romanians wishing to visit Sicily not to go there by a sedan or SUV since the streets are very narrow. And be aware of parking in Taormina (it is allowded only in the two parking lots, otherwise you can get a considerable fine).
The owners, the Lapi family, are extremely nice and helpful when you want to visit the surroundings.Fabrizio invited us from the beginning to take advantage of the lemon orchard, so that every morning we had a fresh lemonade on the terrace in front of the villa. We stayed in the Eraclea Villa (downstairs and upstairs bedroom, bathroom with shower and hall-kitchen) - a picturesque old building. Ok in terms of cleanliness. You can get breakfast supplies from the grocery store in Scillichenti at about 800 m, with delicious products you only find in Italy.
WiFi is available only if you move near the grill and I believe they should extend the hotspot.
The orchard itself is an attraction - shady paths leading to various surprise places (solarium with chairs and shower, balcony with sea view).
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we are decided to repeat it in other seasons (especially in spring when the lemon trees are blooming).
I intended to write this review in Romanian but, unfortunately, the Traveladvisor policy does not permit posting in my own language.
