“Refined versions of classic Puglian fare at good prices in a great Old Town location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

It speaks for itself when on a wet & windy out of season Monday evening, when the streets and restaurants are empty, this place needed prior booking and was lively and convivial, with every table filled. As I've said in a previous review of food in Otranto, all the menus and prices read the same, but the quality varies massively. Alongside great seafood & pasta dishes, complimentary aperitif & amuse bouche, varied good value wine list and relaxed atmosphere, Peccato Di Vino made us very happy on the last night of our holiday!

“Not as good as it thinks it is”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013 via mobile

I have no idea why anyone would choose to eat here when L'altro baffo is just round the corner and you can eat there for the same prices. The service here is a bit sleazy and over-pretentious. I wouldn't mind that if the food were excellent but it's not. The portions are pretty big but nothing tasted as good as it should have. Bitter purée of broad beans and pretty bland pasta with seafood. The scampi were fine but they weren't exceptional and at €5 each, I would expect them to be. This place either needs to improve its food drastically or turn down its service and prices.

“Delicious food by the Cathedral”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

We visited this restaurant twice during a stay near Otranto. Overall it is very good. It attracts tourists rather than locals and has a limited menu. However the welcome is warm, the restaurant is pretty and the food delicious.

There is no outside seating here so not sure how pleasant it is in the heat of summer. We were there in early May and so eating inside was absolutely fine.

Menu is fish based with some interesting cooking. The starter of three little dishes to share was lovely. My companion ate the most delicious and enormous tuna fillet and I had a more delicate sea bream with potato srust and tomatoes,

Service can get rather overwhelmed when busy later on and on our second visit we skipped dessert and coffee as we had waited far too long for attention.

Well worth a visit while in Otranto.
