“Never felt so pampered”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

Booked for a week and extended our stay for an extra night because we really loved it. Our room was spacious, extremely comfortable and clean. The hotel staff, from the manager to the waiter, were all extremely kind, helpful and courteous and pampered us no end. The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing with the excellent Quarta coffee. The restaurant, where we ended up eating every night except one, was absolutely exquisite, thanks to the creativeness and skill of the young chef, Daniele Rizzo, who also pampered us extensively. Needless to say we're planning to go back again this year.

Stayed for 7 nights and loved the hotel. Room and bathroom was very pleasant and spotlessly clean (no kettle though), spacious, fixtures and fittings are very high quality. Big bed. Breakfast has a wide buffet choice, and they'll also cook for you if asked. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Staff are very friendly and speak pretty good English once they get into conversation. The decor throughout is very nautical and classy. Super value at the end of the season too. I can't speak highly enough of this place. Close to the town and beach, easy walking distance.

Room Tip: Room 210 is one of only a couple with sea view.

The hotel offers free shuttle bus to Beach( Lido Tropea) during summer which was good.
The receptionists were all helpful and will make all reservations in local such as Lido, taxi, restaurants for you.
The hotel located close by the port.

Originally booked to stay for two nights but loved it so much I extended my stay. I used it as a base to tour around Castro, Leuca, Gallipoli and Lecce. It is well located just near the old part of town n beaches. This area had so many great restaurants to choose from when I came back from touring Salento. The best gelato I have ever had was along the beach at Martinucci. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The only thing that I was disappointed in was the room (205) when I extended the stay. Originally I was given a beautiful double room (201), spacious and with a little balcony, when I extended I didn't expect that I would be so lucky again but the room (205) I was given was downstairs next to the utilities area. All night there was knocking and banging, the air conditioning couldn't be adjusted so it was a little too cold. As I was leaving the next day there was no use in saying anything. Other than avoiding this room, I would highly recommend this hotel as a base for touring Salento.

The Corte di Nettuno is a wonderful hotel in Otranto. It is on a quiet end of town, but is only a short distance to the historic walled old part of the city.

The hotel itself offers the bonus of being a virtual nautical museum. Our room was spacious, and there was free parking and complimentary wired internet in the room. The hotel is decorated with the personal nautical antique collection of the owner (who owns the Quarto Coffee company in nearby Lecce). Old lights, porthole windows, compasses, coral, ships wheels, maps and other nautical collectible decorate the rooms, lobby, restaurant and bar area. In addition to the fantastic decor, the hotel was very updated relative to energy conservation, with all hallway lights being controlled by motion sensors, etc.

The only issue we had with this hotel had a fantastic resolution. We arrived the first night on a 90 degree F day to find that the air conditioning in the entire hotel was not working. The part needed to fix it was not available until the next day. While the hotel could not give us a credit for this inconvenience due to our booking with a non-refundable fee, they quickly offered us a complimentary dinner for three at the hotel restaurant.

We usually stay away from hotel restaurants in order to explore locally, we decided on our second night to take them up on their offer. The hotel offered a fixed price three course dinner. We soon found that three course means five course at the Corte di Nettuno. In addition to the excellent pasta, entree and dessert we all enjoyed, the waiter brought us complimentary courses including a fabulous cold cuttlefish-potato cocktail and apertif. We also had two bottles of wine "on the house".

This type of accomodation for an issue that is generally beyond the control of management is what makes a property exceptional, and the Corte di Nettuno scores big in that department!

In addition, we cut short our stay in Otranto in favor or an extra day in Rome, and while they could not refund the stay they gave a certificate for a free night should we return.

For visiting the Selanta (Lecce, Otranto, Gallipoli), I would highly recommend staying at the Corte di Nettuno!

We stayed here 5 nights and had a lovely room. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the centre of Otranto. The reception staff were very efficient and helpful, providing us with maps, info on local beaches and restaurants. Hotel is charming as its sort of naval museum hotel with lots of artefacts such as capstans, old gas lights, etc taken from old ships and displayed attractively. Breakfast is great with a good selection of pastries, bread, cheeses, cold meats, cereal and fresh fruit. Also they will make you fresh orange juice, omelettes and scrambled eggs. There are attractive areas outside either at the top of the building or on the ground floor where you can sit and relax.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms face a courtyard. None of the rooms have views though

The hotel has attractive, comfortable rooms with modern pretty bathrooms and all the amenities (safe, fridge, ample closet) . It is a short walk from the historical center of the delightful town of Oltranto and a short drive to gorgeous beaches. Breakfast is delicious and generous, something for all tastes. The most important aspect of the hotel was the exceptional staff, the cleaning staff, the breakfast staff, and the amazing Betty and Romina at reception. They were so kind and generous in taking the time to give us their advice on everything from restaurants to beaches. They worked so hard at making our stay so terrific. their input was invaluable !!! Grazie di nuovo !!!!
