5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Where does one start with a place as nice as this? It has to be the setting which is the finest on Cephalonia. It would get 6 or 7 if TA allowed me to vote above 5. The Hotel looks west over a beautiful bay which you can drive down to and enjoy the 2 tavernas - the first of which serves good fish.

Our room was really good; well appointed and very spacious, again with great views out above the bay. The pool area is also superb with an infinity pool with three different levels of deck to lounge on. Service is very focused on the client and friendly. We saw a Belgian review saying the wifi was poor - for us it was very good, all the time.

Being family owned and with a great team of staff we wish this Hotel great success and are delighted it has been voted the top 4* Hotel in Greece. We are recommending it to all our friends and plan to go back as soon as time permits. May rates were great value.

Room Tip: We would suggest paying for rooms at level 2 or 3 to get the best views. We were in 201 whihc was e...

Our first (but definitely not our last) visit to the beautiful Island of Kefalonia was made even more memorable due to the unforgettable experience of staying at the Petani Bay Hotel - a true gem!

The ambience of the Hotel; the spectacular views; the attentive and high standard of customer service and care provided by John and Voula (together with their warm, friendly and competent staff), made our holiday a complete success.

We are thrilled that destiny brought us into contact with the Island, the Petani Bay Hotel and John and Voula - this has been an AWESOME experience. We are genuinely looking forward to returning again in the future and to developing our friendship with these wonderful, kind and loving people.

We have no doubt that many other visitors before and after us will feel likewise.

It is the personal service of the owners and the friendly staff which make this hotel stand out. Add the beautiful setting and the clean spacious apartments and this hotel is a great place to unwind. As others have noted, the Petani Bay is a little off the beaten track but definitely worth a visit. When we returned to the island later in the year we chose the Emilise in Fiskardo - perhaps a two centre holiday Petani Bay and one of the busier towns is the perfect combination.

I cannot give enough praise to Petani Bay hotel, its total paradise!

We booked Petani for the first part of our Honeymoon. We booked direct with the hotel and from the beginning I knew that Voula would be the most amazing hostess. She offered help and guidance on our trip and was always available in the run up to let us know how the weather was!!

The hotel itself is well hidden but once you reach it and step onto the terrace it is like another world. The hotel looks out to the sea from every room and the infinity pool is unbelievable! We had a top floor room and it offered the most beautiful views, sunset was awesome!! The room was modern, very clean and had mosquito screens so you could have the doors open without any unwanted guests getting in!

It was really quiet when we were there so it was perfect for us, we lazed by the pool for the first day and then it was a great base to visit other villages. You will need a car though :o)

While we were there we spent most nights having a nightcap at the pool bar and were kept entertained by Olek and his cocktails!! Voula would often join us for a chat too.

While at Petani do not miss the beach....its awesome and I think its better than the coveted Myrtos. We went down every evening for dinner by the sea and loved eating at Grasuias tavern each night, don't miss this Gem!! The fresh fish and calamari are to die for!!

If you are looking to stay on this gorgeous island make sure you get to Petani and sample the delights of Petani Bay. If you go say hi to all the staff from us!!

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are worth the extra money just for the view!

We really enjoyed our stay at Petani Bay hotel. The location is perfect with great views and spectacular sunsets. Voula is enthusiastic and makes you feel welcome. We love Kefalonia and especially this wonderful gem. The rooms are so comfortable. It certainly has the 'wow factor', you do not want to leave...we will be back!

A boutique hotel overlooking a magical view, with helpful staff and pretty much all you could need for an R&R vacation.

The room was clean and comfortable, the beds divine… All rooms have balconies facing a most amazing sunset!

The breakfast was fresh and colorful, after which you can't eat till supper… John (the owner), and Oleg were attentive and very friendly, and if you're looking for a quiet small hotel – this is THE place for you. You'll enjoy the pool (and the view to the bay.. again!), the restaurant (as you dine facing breathtaking sunsets as the ones they have every evening over there) and the great atmosphere.
Enjoy and send regards from Keren & Alon (;

We stayed at Petani Bay in August for three nights at the start of a weeks holiday in Kefalonia and we chose the right place to begin unwinding. It's slightly off the beaten track but for all the right reasons, the view is breathtaking. The owners are dedicated and so welcoming and the team are humble and efficient, making us feel very welcome and well looked after.

Personal touches and extra efforts were made throughout our stay and my birthday was made all the more special with a cake made by the owner herself, Voula - thank you again! And the girls singing happy birthday to me as they carried it into our room was so sweet.

I don't agree with the review that say the building and surrounding lacks charm (sorry) They have designed the hotel to allow the stunning view to be the star of the show whilst you sit back and enjoy it (with a glass of wine or cold beer) in a very hospitable environment.

The rooms are lovely, filled with sunshine and very clean and modern. No, the beds aren’t one big mattress but we slept like babies. The wifi wasn’t great but who cares, you could use it in the main part of the hotel only a few metres away, a blessing in disguise comes to mind.

We didn’t have a car because we had no intention of straying too far from home for the first leg of our trip. For three nights we had enough to do with a trip to the beach one day and an amazing fresh seafood late lunch at the local tavern. Our first night was at the hotel and very relaxing, a taxi ride to Lixouri for some proper Greek food on our second night was fab and one night back at the beach bar was great fun.

We left there and spent four night at Emelisse Hotel which was more lively and glamorous but also pretentious. It certainly made us appreciate Petani Bay for all it’s worth. It’s charming and unique and you will have everything you need, you simply have to ask.
