It is a small hotel, this is probably why no one has mentioned it here yet. We stayed there for five days in August 2007, and we enjoyed every moment of it.
Location is superb. Alpine paths start in several hundred meters, you can walk straight from the door. On another hand, a train station with frequent local services to Salzburg is on the hotel backyard! You could easily have a decent walk in the morning and go to Salzburg for the afternoon. Very nice Bad Reichenhall is also within a twenty-minute stroll.
The room was tremendous. As a family with a seven-years-old child, we booked a triple room. It was not very cheap, 117 euros per day, but it was worth every penny. It actually consisted of two spacious rooms, and the bathroom could easily make another room somewhere in London! There was virtually no noise from the trains. Buffet breakfast was nice and plentiful, and we had several lavish meals in their restaurant.
The staff were very helpful and efficient. As an example, we were to arrive in Salzburg airport late in the evening, so I inquired about transportation. The e-mail answer arrived within an hour: do not take a taxi at the airport, we will send it from here, it will be cheaper. The taxi was waiting for us when we arrived, and in half an hour we were at the hotel, for the cost of 30 euros. I think you would happily pay that if you arrive late with a lot of luggage and a tired child!
This hotel may be not ideal for younger people who would like to have more entertainment. For our purposes, it was excellent. Highly recommended!
