“Excellent Exhibit!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

I enjoyed this museum thoroughly! Some German friends offered to take me here on one of my days off on a business trip. When they said, "clocks" I kinda frowned thinking it would be a boring trip that I would have to just be polite about. But when we arrived, it was quite different from what I expected. There was a gentleman who gave us an overview of how different clocks worked down through history up to today. They had watches and clocks from all over the world, some even as old as prehistoric times. There was also a complex one displayed up front that had absolutely no mechanical parts whatsoever. It operated by only weights and pulleys. It was so big that it wouldn't have even fit in a normal office cubical I don't believe. It was fascinating to actually see something that large with no mechanical parts work and actually keep the correct time!

“Great museum centered on clocks and their role in Black Forest history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

This is a really informative museum that gives you a chance to see a lot of clocks, watches, and music machines that serve to illustrate the history of clocks and the Black Forest. They have guides in English and other languages too so can understand what you're looking at. I really enjoyed the museum. It's fairly straight forward but don't be fooled, there's a lot to learn and enjoy here. I highly recommend this for people of all ages.

“Interesting.”

A good history lesson on time. Beautiful clock display.

Children are given a booklet with a crime to solve by looking for clues around the museum.

“Nice museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

Very interesting museum. I was amazed about all the types of clocks and learned a lot about timekeeping. Apart from the clocks, the rooms in the museum was a bit grey and boring. Anyway, a nice museum. We spent 1 hour here.

“Quite a bit of fun.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

We took the guided tour and learned a bit about the history of the region, as well as the clocks. Definitely worth a 1.5 to 2 hr visit.
