This was the first time we had used Maison Jaune and we went n the advice of a couple we met through other fiends. They had raved about it and basically persuaded us both that it was worth the money. We took ther advice and by crikey am I glad we did.

Put simply this was the best chalet experience we have ever had and we have had a lot, many very good, to compare it wih. At first galnce in the current echange rate economic climate, Maison Jaune appears expensive, and it is not cheap for sure, but it is very good value for money. Leighton and Helen first and foremost make you so welcome and they cannot do enough for you; it is like staying with friends. The chalet is well appointed, very tidy, very well decorated and probably the smartest we have stayed in in terms of the quality of the bathrooms and the comfort of the beds and linen. Lok on the website to see the views of the place and all I can say is that they do not do it justice. From the moment I stepped out of the transfer minibus, I was speechless and those who know me will tell you that is a rare thing! Leightons passion is cooking and boy does he know what e is doing. The food is outstanding and they match it well and do not scrimp on the wines. Even after dinner they will break out fine malts and brandy but don't get drinkig the whiskey with Leighton as he really can't take it!!!

Skiing at Les Houches is limited unless there is lots of powder butthere is enough to shake of the cobwebs. Moreover, Leighton and Helen will take you all ovr to ski which makes for a very varied and interesting week. They also will ski with you and show you round. They are true enthusiasts which is something that I really think does set a stay at Maison Jaune apart from many chalet holidays. If you can do try to get Leighton on telemarks....your sides will hurt with laughter! And of course after a hectic day there is always the jacuzzi to ease things down.

On the serious side everything admin wise is organised superbly and I simply put I cannot fault the place. If you want a cheap holiday, go elsewhere. If you want a good value, special chalet experience, go to Maison Jaune.

The best recommendation is I have bee back since and have already booked for next year.....says it al really!
