We visited Nabana no Sato shortly after Christmas this year as a day trip from Osaka. (Which was a rather long way to travel, however we were very keen to see it! Definitely worth the trek)
We rode the direct bus from Nagoya, which took around 30mins and was only 860 yen one way from memory. Admission price was 2000 Yen, which is not bad considering the Tennoji Park in Osaka was charging 1000 Yen for a illumination show 1/10 the size of Nabana no Sato. The lights were so beautiful – we arrived shortly before the lights were all turned on at 5.00pm, which was great as we got to see some of the gorgeous gardens as the sun went down.
We rode the Island Fuji which allowed stunning views from up in the sky for just 500yen. The Light Tunnels were a definite highlight, and the first one leads to a landscape light show featuring Mt Fuji and a rest/area with ramen and oden to warm you up from the winter chill. (It gets incredibly cold so I suggest you rug up) More food options available from what looked like sort of traditional village style food court at the end of the course. Well worth the visit if you are in the area!
