“Awesome!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2014 via mobile

Had a night stay and we wish we stayed longer!
Location: near to the lake and 5mins walking distance to the yummy Kohan restaurant and app 15mins to Church of good shepherd.
Room: clean with comfy warmed bed, and spacious toilet. Cosy room.
Breakfast: spread was average, but we were greeted with breathtaking view of the lake when having breakfast at the lobby area. So that made the breakfast a truly enjoyable one.
Overall: would definitely stay here again on our next visit. =)

Bluewater Resort has a prime location, while its not on the lakefront this is an advantage being higher up Tekapo to take advantage of the turquoise blue Lake Tekapo. Close to shops / pools / skating rink. Room was clean and spacious and had everything I needed. You don't really need to leave the resort as you can be self contained if you get an apartment and cook for yourself. Restaurant was top notch and breakfast delicious with a wide variety of hot and cold options. All staff were very friendly and approachable, and nothing was a problem.

Room Tip: Pay the extra to upgrade from the Standard Hotel rooms if you want views / extra space.

The resort sprawls over a large area. The setting is picture postcard. From the upper rooms you can get unrivalled views over the lake.

The resort is just outside of the village centre. It is walking distance, however if you dont want to venture out you can dine and have a drink within the complex.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a lake view

I booked a deluxe room as part of a trip through South Island during Jan'14 and was more than happy.

The deluxe room was a reverse level self contained apartment and was fantastic. I booked the room reasonably late so paid a premium for it. That said I was pleasantly surprised when we entered the room. The bedroom and bathroom were downstairs, open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area upstairs with a balcony which overlooked the mountains and lake.

Although we didn't really use any of the facilities the resort had a very good feel and would have liked to have stayed on longer.

Recommend place to stay in Lake Tekapo.

Room Tip: Pay the extra, book a deluxe room and save the money you'd spend in a restaurant by cooking in y...

We stayed for two nights, as travelling round new zeland, this is my favourite place in new zeland, it's amazing, we enjoyed the accomation it was spotless clean very comfy room, and a lovely large bathroom very nice, the views were amazing overlooking the lake, felt like we were in a penthouse apartment it was excellent. Lake tekapo is stunning, the restraints are excellent high quality food, but as soon as you arrive you must book for the night or you won't get in. The takeaway was not very nice, we walked for miles around the lake, really enjoyed this location in new zeland, will be back next year

Room Tip: Have a lake view room amazing

The hotel has a great location. You can walk to the village and lake in a few minutes. The room was well furnished with a great view of the lake and mountains. Really appreciated the electric blanket and the heated floor. Wished that the seat could be heated too, like they do in Japanese cities, but I guess NZ is too eco-friendly for that.

There's an option of the breakfast buffet, but you can also have breakfast at Cafe Run 77 which offers free wifi, which is helpful since Peppers charges for wifi.

Room Tip: Rooms with views of course cost more, but why pay for the view when you can have it for free by walk...
