“Stunning view from room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Very friendly owner who allowed us to look at the rooms before making a confirmation. More privacy if you take the rooms upstairs. Family units do not have direct lake view. There is a little supermarket less than 80 m from here.

Room Tip: The studio units are good for three pax. A microwave and some dinnerware are provided.

Spent 1 night here after driving from Christchurch which took us longer than we expected with all the stops along the way.Arrived just before sunset to a beautiful outlook and a clean, comfy ground floor room just metres from the pub , restaurant and lake. Easy and quick to use on-site washing machine and drier. Helpful, friendly and efficient staff. Woke up early to a frosty ,clear morning to views of the mountains, lake and the little old church. Perfect for us.

Room Tip: any would be fine. ground floor facing the lake would be my pick but it wouldnt matter too much as i...

We chose a "Studio Upstairs" room at this hotel and it was fantastic. The room was quite large with stunning views of the lake and mountains. There's also a great view of the nearby park and gardens plus a nice view across to the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Check-in was a breeze and the owners were extremely helpful. I'd lost my reading glasses earlier that day and the owners had a small collection of glasses that had been left behind by previous guests. I found a pair that did the trick (not perfect but reasonable - and they got me out of a jam).

The room had everything we needed - plenty of space, tea and coffee, a large bathroom and a large comfortable bed. The veranda would be perfect for a quiet drink at the end of the day with a beautiful view to relax and unwind (although it was a bit too cold for that on our trip).

The motel is located conveniently close to everything you might want and is only a 5 - 10 minute walk from sights like the Church. If you're staying in Lake Tekapo, put this hotel on your shortlist.

Room Tip: Take the Studio Upstairs rooms - great views of the lake and mountains.

The location is really good, lake Tekapo is just beneath your eyes. From the balcony we could enjoy the lake view as well as the clean view of sky at night. Rooms are clean and warm. It's worthy a try.

Have stayed here several times over the years and have always had a very pleasant experience. As many others have stated - you can't beat the views from the balconies. The rooms have always been very clean and well-maintained. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. I absolutely love this place!

We choose the Lake Tekapo Scenic Resort for a weekend away from Dunedin. First impression is the friendly reception and the clean and tidy room. We stayed in one of the upstairs studios which have breathtaking views over the lake. Coffee/Tea making facilities, Microwave, fridge and LCD TV, one sofa and a comfortable queen bed. The ensuite was clean and tidy, thought the water pressure in the shower was irregular. Thought a power outage sent the hole town for most of the day back to "stone age", Don and Catherine did everything to keep the stay as comfortable as possible.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Lake Tekapo Scenic Resort.

Great position overlooking parkland toward Lake Tekapo. Just amazing views. Room was compact with a queen size bed and a sofa and very clean.Cooking facilites limited with just a microwave and fridge. We had a lovely balcony which overlooked the lake and also carpark. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Lake Tekapo is a perfect place to break the journey from christchurch to Wanaka.

Room Tip: room with a balcony facing the lake
