“Something for everyone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

You can buy discount vouchers at www.bookme.co.nz for massages at the dayspa, or entry to the hot springs. We paid 1/2 price - $50 for a 1hr massage. We had a mix-up with the appointment time and the day spa were very nice in accommodating us. We also paid 1/2 price - $10 for adult entry. Just make sure you buy your vouchers in advance - you can't buy them on BookMe on the day.

We all enjoyed the 3 outdoor hot spring pools which have stunning views of the lake and mountains. Each pool has a different temperature with one pool at 40C and adults only.

There is also an outdoor ice rink as well as a 150m long snow tube slope. At night from 6-9pm you can ski/snowboard the slope for $30 but I wouldn't recommend it - if you're a beginner the slope would be too steep and if you're better than beginner you'd find it boring.

There is a conveyor belt which transports you and your snow tube (double tubes are available so you can slide down with a friend or child) up the slope.

In one hour my kids (aged 8.5 and 7) got over 10 rides for only an extra $11 on top of their spa pool entry fee - all up they paid about $27 and for an extra $6 they could have gone ice-skating as well (skate hire included).

There is a coffee shop with open fire and comfy lounge - serving meals as well. There's also an outdoor area with some benches and tables.

Hot showers and hair dryers are provided. BYO towel and shampoo. You can hire towels and swimming costumes.

A very reasonably-priced attraction. We arrived about 11.30am and left about 6pm after having a shower.

Lake Tekapo town is about a 20 minute walk along the lake.

If you are going during the week check if they are expecting any school groups. The day we went there was a crowd of about 60 primary school children. Luckily we got in the spa pools before them and while they were in the spa pool my kids went snow-tubing. It wouldn't be particularly relaxing in the hot pools with a school group visiting and the change-room was chaotic while they were in there!

“A place for fun & relaxation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

Tekapo springs offer several options (I.e. hot pools soak, ice skating, snow tubing etc.) and has a little cafe that serves great coffee.

Combo deals are available if one wants to participate in more than one activities. I bought the combo for hot pools and snow tubing and it was a great experience! I started with the snow tubing (1hour) and it was really fun! Staff on grounds were really professional and friendly, which makes the experience even better! Ask for a huge spin for greater excitement!

For the hot pools, there are three with varying temperatures. Each of them provide a fantastic view of the snow capped mountains and it's really relaxing. For safety, there's a lifeguard on standby.

Overall, this is a great experience and I highly recommend it for anyone who's visiting Lake Tekapo.

Ps: bring your own towel and save $5 from towel rental. Lockers are available at $3 for storing your personal items.

“What a Great Way to Relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

My partner and I spent 5 nights in Tekapo Village having a good holiday and one of the luxuries we enjoyed was visiting here - not once but THREE times during our break! We were impressed with the complex not only providing ice skating but snow tube riding and of course the 3 beautifully sited hot pools with the most magnificent view over the surrounding landscape, including the Lake. Must also mention our return the following day to experience the Day Spa. Special thanks to Hannah our masseuse who was very capable and caring. It was great to soak in the pools, of 3 varying temperatures that cater for everyone and are so well thought out that even when soaking in the adult (hottest pool) you are really not too aware of the many young children that may be in the vicinity, in the other pools. The café inside serves a lovely all day breaky...which we partook of. Was also pleased that they offer a free p/up and transfer to & from the Springs (when applicable). This complex appears to still be planning further development and I am confident that this will only add to its attraction. Thanks Karl and team. We will be back again and pass on our recommendation to all visiting Tekapo.

“Lovely way to relax after a hard days skiing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

We went in the late afternoon and sat in the pool while watching the sun set over the mountains. There were three pools, two of which were available to children. The highest temperature was a toasty 40 degrees. It was a lovely place to relax and have a chat, whilst recouping from your busy day. Look out for cheap tickets for this attraction on bookme, we paid $10.

“Best trip i've had in a while”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Having not gone further than Kurow in the past few years I was excited to see what Tekapo had to offer. We arrived late after lunch to a big line at the front counter, staff came over while we were still in line and had a casual chat, asked where we were from, what we were going to be doing, it was just nice to have such a personal touch. We were advised of a wait for snow tubing of about 10-15 minutes but decided to head over to chance it and managed to get in straight away! Staff over there were great making sure we felt safe going down, if we wanted to go down in groups or individually. We spent a good hour and a half afterwards in the hot springs and were glad to sit in the Adults Only section away from everyone else and have some time to relax. Will definitely be heading back before the snow tubing season is over and back again for the summer season, can't stop telling workmates and friends who haven't been before.
