We loved everything about this quaint hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Definitely would stay there again and recommend it to friends.

We loved staying here! Small hotel , stylish and low key. Our bedroom overlooking the pool was very pleasant . The staff were very helpful . Breakfast was very good indeed . We loved borrowing bikes and cycling round the nearby wineries and the small town is also pleasant . We would love to go back ! The only problem were some very noisy dogs sometimes barking at night..

We stayed for three nights over a weekend in January and inspite of the village being packed with city party goers, this intimate hotel remained an oasis of calm. Staff were always ready with recommendations for eating and touring - quite happy to make reservations when required. We had devided our 12 days in the Mendoza region between the spectacular, remote beauty of Barreal, staying at La Querencia, the vibe of the city centre at the Park Hyatt and the gentle sophistication of Chacres, it was a perefect mix, with each hotel reflecting the very best of it's location.

The staff at Lares de Chacra were welcoming and accommodating The dinner was excellent. The breakfast was very nice. The room was quite large and spotlessly clean and the pool and jacuzzi were great for our two small children.

A wonderful boutique hotel. We especially liked the sizeable bedrooms and the garden / pool area. It was so relaxing after a week living it up in BA.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and went above the call of duty to assist one of our party who needed to make an urgent telephone call in response to some bad news.

My one negative comment is they do not sufficiently advertise the diners they offer which are excellent. We only found out about them from Alex (the excellent barman) and the Bar-B-Q was a real treat but sadly only 5 couples attended as it was not publicised.

The hotel is great, with rustic elements mixed with modern features, it is beautifully presented. We had an upstairs room (room 5) which had one of the biggest balconies (even though it was only a standard room), right on the end on the building. I think upstairs is better, as downstairs is more visible from the pool - whereas noone could see into our room. Breakfast was good - with more "western" selections such as cereals, however we only got offered scrambled eggs, but perhaps if you really wanted another type you could have specifically requested it. The buffet choice isnt huge but had a decent enough selection (Argentina isnt exactly known for breakfast). The pool was lovely - great temperature, and the umbrellas over the chairs are pretty critical if you want to spend any length of time out there - the sun is hot! They made some excellent lunch/dinner recommendations - we enjoyed every place they suggested. It is a great location for activities as well, for both our wine tour (trout & wine - very good!) and whitewater rafting (Argentinean Rafting - also very good), we were the last pickup/first dropoff on the transfers which is always nice! The staff were all friendly and spoke good English. We also had a massage whilst we were there which was nice but not amazing.

When you arrive in Mendoza, you realize that you have arrived in an industrial city in the desert. All the better when you get to Lares de Chacras, which has a beautiful garden with a cozy pool, nice architecture and interiors and big rooms, the service is very friendly and outstanding, very helpful in organizing tours, restaurants and transportation. They managed to find us 2 great vineyards to visit on short notice on a Sunday, when our plans were changed on short notice (note: don't plan vinery tours for Sundays!), and even invited us back for breakfast when our early flight on Christmas day was cancelled. They make you feel like part of their family, well done!
Watch out, there is a venue nearby that operates corporate Christmas parties in the month of December, and than you have loud music from midnight to 6am, if that bothers you. But apart from that it is a little paradise.
