What better way to soak up all that wine than with homemade bread and olive oil. I easily could have filled up on that alone, but luckily I saved room for tapas: cheese, crackers, (homemade) raisins plate and beet puree on tortilla chips adorned with edible flowers. The beet puree was a fantastic aperitif. For the main course I had the vegetable lasagna with bolognese sauce. Portion size was HUGE. I ate about 1/4 of it (took home the rest for dinner), and it was fantastic! I enjoyed a tasting of 3 wines with my meal: chardonnay, merlot, and malbec. All of this was part of a group wine tasting tour, whose guide believes that lunch after wine tasting should be more than just a ham and cheese sandwich...I couldn't agree more!
