I can't recommend this enough! The estancia is about 3 hrs from BA which makes you feel properly disconnected from the city. The house is beautiful, clean and stands remote in it's own grounds. David is an excellent host (and entertainer if you are lucky!) The staff are superb, Racquel's cooking is not to be missed! If you are looking to relax for a few days and unwind away from the city this is unbeatable!

Just spent a chilled week relaxing in the campo at the margarita estancia, and it's every bit as good as they say below. Great food, lots of horse riding and yes we even got the owner, David, to play his guitar for us once or twice, and he's not half bad.

He writes quite a funny blog on the web called the english gaucho and we found out about this place from there.

The Margarita is a great holiday place - peaceful and quiet. comfy beds and lots of red wine - perfect.

From the moment you drive through the gate, the warmth of La Margarita fills you and relaxes you. The beautiful surroundings, wonderful hosts, and helpful staff make this the perfect antidote to a hectic stay in Buenos Aires. We chose to end our trip here, which was perfect. With the help of Lalo, a true gaucho, we rode their wonderful horses in the morning. We took long walks on the pampas in the afternoons, and - my favorite part- long naps on the hammocks hanging from the 100-year old trees on the property. At night, we dined on Raquel's delicious food, drank Argentina's wonderful wine, and talked for hours with David, the estancia's charming owner. We even coaxed him to play guitar for us (my other favorite part) while we tried to remember the words to our favorite songs from the last 40 years! Overall just a fantastic stop and one I will always remember.

Arriving after a stressful conference in Mar del Plata, we entered a world of peace & tranquility. Best part of my whole 2 week trip in Argentina! David & Maria made me feel like family; Raquel created FANTASTIC meals, the staff met every need. I've never had a fireplace in my bedroom before, but what a way to fall asleep, with the crackling of a warm fire! The whole place, and all the staff, seemed to have "an excellent spirit", absolutely everything was done with care & excellence. Their chapel on Sunday morning was a peaceful place to meet God. Their horses were the absolute BEST I've every ridden, lots of spirit & life! Thank you David & Maria, for giving me a time of rest & refreshing, before I began my 32 hour trip back to Hawaii. I can't wait to come back to La Estancia La Margarita. Your estancia and the pampas are etched in my heart & mind.
