“Hit the spot!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

We were craving some well prepared sushi between the airport and a two hour drive; Kintaro did a great job taking care of our craving! The small sized restaurant has attentive service, and fresh food in a relaxed atmosphere. Our sake poured hot, Sapporo served chilled, edamame arrived steaming, and sushi delivered fresh. All was delicious!

“Best sushi in San Juan!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012 via mobile

Had dinner on Saturday night with my husband around 8pm and wanted to try something new, had the caterpillar roll and it was delicious! Emendation though we only saw one server and it was very busy with all tables taken, she still gave us very good service and very pleasant, also great that they have valet parking for free beings it is on a busy avenue! Will keep coming back!

“Well worth a visit for the food and entertaining service.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

The Kintaro is a smallish, cafe style sushi bar, situated about 10 mins walk away from The El San Juan hotel.
As you walk in the door, you are acknowledged but not particularly warmly greeted by the waiters.
You are unceremoniously plonked at the nearest empty table and the menu is hurtled in your general direction.
The order is taken and we're not sure if we've ordered too much or too little, as the waiter seems totally non communicative, although not in a nasty way.
We order spiced salmon sushi, Teriyaki beef, chicken satay, special fried rice, prawn tempura amongst others and everything was jolly tasty.

Price works out about $36 pp with a bottle of Pinot Grigio.
Not the place to visit for a romantic Saturday night out with somebody else's wife but well worth a visit for the food and entertaining service.
