My wife and I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard for one night before our cruise began on 3/21/09. We arrived shortly before check-in time and our room was immediately available. Our room was on the twelfth floor with a partial ocean view. We ate both our lunch and dinner that night at the hotel and were quite happy with the quality of the food. Lunch was eaten outside at the Papaya Grill and included a free rum drink using a coupon that we received upon check in. Dinner was a Puerto Rican buffet for $23.95 at Salsa. Our favorite part of staying at this hotel was its location on Isla Verde Beach. This is an area which has nice waves for bodyboarding and surfing. We enjoyed the beach both Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. The hotel is located right next to the airport but we felt that the noise was not an issue at all. Between the air conditioning in the room or the surf outside the aircraft noise blended in with other sounds. All in all we found this hotel to be a very good value and most enjoyable if you want direct access to beach and water activities in a pre cruise hotel.

Hotel is badly in need of a remodel.Asked for ocean view,received partial view. Rooms were clean,but just hanging a few pictures does not make over a room.Food very expensive,only option for breakfast was pricey buffet.Pool small ,not weel taken care of. Concierge not helpful.Airport noise loud. Would not stay here again

This Marriott-affiliated hotel has a snack bar, a restaurant, a very nice beach and large pool area (several pools), an exercise center, a casino, and is very close to the San Juan airport -- some might think too close since you can hear the take-offs when out at beach or pool. Very clean, nice personnel; not-great food, very slow service sometimes in eating areas; eat the made-as-you-watch omlets for breakfast, not the pastries or pre-cooked buffet dishes.

Not exactly cheap, but struggling with low occupancy even in mid-March 2009, so maybe you can talk them into a better rate. Most rooms have at least "some view" of the ocean. Safe neighborhood, several very good restaurants ("Metropol") and an InterContinental hotel/casino with multi-restaurants within half mile easy walk. Beach is about two miles long: clean, but with a mid-range camping site next door, and a little-used public beach beyond that.

I booked my family to stay here for five nights through New Year's Eve and beyond. The food - very good. Wait service and staff even better. Restaurants are pretty good. Get there early for the breakfast buffet. Everyone very polite and hardworking, a wonderful representation of Puerto Rico.

Clean, friendly and generally uncrowded beach with staff everywhere. Airplane takeoffs and landings were not overly frequent and not bothersome.

Suggest booking the deluxe beach view. You won't regret it. Casino is convenient, and plan on having a good time losing slowly but surely.

Parking garage makes it easy to rent a car by the airport, and head out for daytrips.

Getting to downtown San Juan is PITA, due to traffic. Be sure to leave early. We did not and paid the price.

On return to PR, we'd definitely return to this Marriott.
