We enjoyed our stay here, but it was very quiet due to the fact it was low season, which suited us down to the ground. We only used the on site restaurants twice as we preferred to eat out. It was a 15/20 minute walk into Gosier but we did enjoy the restaurants, of which there were about six. There are also two or three nearer the hotel which are good value too. We did wonder what had happened just outside the hotel, there seems to be a block of shops/takeaways but they are all closed except for one or two. There is a small pattisserie however, which was really good for breakfast. Our one regret is that we forgot our French phrase book!!!
Facilities in the hotel are quite good, the pools are good and it's a very nice beach. Our room was fine and everything was clean. We didn't hire a car as we travelled on local buses which was fun.

Food is good, both at the buffet restaurant and Zawag restaurant for creole cuisine.

Rooms are OK, but rather noisy (doors slamming all the time).

Nice bar with musical shows in the evenings. Drinks price rather high.

We stayed here with 2 elementary-school kids. Great pools and beach for kids. The location is also good - close to sites and restaurants and car rental is very close. The staff were pleasant; it definitely helps to speak French. Virtually all other guests were French tourists; you won't find a lot of Americans here. We found the restaurants very disappointing - the $35 or so buffet had 2 meats, 2 kinds of potato, rice, and a handful of salads. Way overpriced for the quality and variety. Breakfast was fine. I would stay here again for the facilities but plan to eat elsewhere.

La Creole is a charming resort hotel. My husband and I stayed in a suite overlooking the ocean and one of the 3 superb on-site restaurants. Although we arrived late (our flight left San Juan without us!) the staff at La Creole were incredibly friendly and helpful. The beach at La Creole is superb and not crowded. There are many amenities --from sea kayaks to windsurfing on site and the hotel provides access to many tours --we visited ile Marie Galante after a 3 hour sail that was amazing. The continental breakfast is good (if repetitive), the on-site food excellent. The decor is good, staff courteous (some knowledge of french is helpful both on-site and around the islands), it's near the casino, fabulous restaurants (walkable) and car rental locations. We can't wait to go back.
