“Great place for breaking a journey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

Clearly this is a well liked restaurant, judging by the almost full carpark on a rainy Thursday morning! Cakes look fantastic, and coffees are all very reasonably priced - large cappuchino for under £2, and including home-made tablet!

“Better now that the tourists have gone”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

This is the fourth time we have tried to eat here in the last few months. On the previous three occasions we couldn't even get a space in the car park and had to go elsewhere. And if you are coming north from Inverness don't bother as the queues at the badly designed Longman roundabout are dreadful (why do they have to put lights on a roundabout that functioned perfectly well before?! - now it fouls up the traffic something awful). Now that the tourist season is over there was plenty of space in the car park and indeed inside the restaurant without having to use the cold tented annexe.

As ever the service is excellent; always cheerful, polite and helpful. The soup is always tasty but the price has gone up quite a bit and not such good value. Fish and chips, however, is still well priced for a large helping. The tablet with the coffee is a nice touch but the coffee itself lacks flavour. Cakes are a bit on the chunky side but good value. We will certainly return until it starts to get too busy again next Spring.

“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

The food was extremely good and served in pleasant surroundings by a friendly and charming wait staff. We had heard good things about the restaurant, and we were extremely pleased to enjoy such a nice Sunday afternoon meal. Can't wait to return.

“Great place - fab cake and great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

Lovely value and quality food, great friendly staff and the best cakes in the Highlands, great for kids. Fresh, local heaps of veggies and generous portions, the queue is always out the door but moves very quickly - it just gives you time to make a decision on what to eat and eye up the puddings. Very warm helpful staff.

Great location - you can sit out by the sea in the summer.
