A warm welcome made up for the very cold and miserable night we arrived! We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed excellent service throughout....nothing was a problem.
This is a nicely appointed hotel with cosy comfy rooms....the view over the golf links and Forth to East Lothian is fabulous on a clear day. Warm and pleasant lounge areas complement the excellent food served in the dining room. The downstairs toilets are a bit austere though with a dark walnut finish throughout, like being in a tortoise-shell! However the food ranks among the best I have tasted in any hotel. Known for its quality beef the hotel lives up to its reputation although for me they could expand their vegetarian menu. The smoked haddock for breakfast was a treat...many hotels serve such but its usually like a minnow on the plate, here they serve an ample portion of top quality fish! There's choice of eating places too, with a very tasteful bistro in the grounds.
An enjoyable experience we would repeat!
