“Nice Hotel but needs an update”

When you drive up to the Thainstine House, the place looks stunning. It is a bit disappointing when you walk inside. The decor is a bit shabby and dated. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Someone even offered to take my small bag to my room.

My room was a standard twin. It was a nice size, but again the decor was very dated. The room was clean and the bathroom looked a lot newer than the bedroom. I was disappointed that my room was supposed to have WIFI, but the connection was too weak to use. There was also no room service.

I was very disappointed in the breakfast. The eggs had steamed until they were as hard as rocks and had a green tinge. The scrambled eggs were very watery. They had obviously set there for a long time.

If I went to Inverurie again, I would probably stay there again because of the staff, but it would be great if they would update the place.

“General Manager Has No People Skills”

Thainstone House Hotel

I recently visited this crerar managed hotel, Thainstone House Hotel Inverurie, and was appalled by the way myself and several guests were treated the place was bustling with guests which is always nice to see but what was clear is the under staffing in the hotel,
There was very few members of staff to consult with and the young girl that was on the bar was running round trying to tend to a busy bar full of people on her own with no help as there was very few staff on, The young girl asked for help from her general manager(Robert Ratcliffe) but as we witnessed first hand that was never received which led the young girl to end up in tears due to making a mistake with our food order, as she was so busy trying to keep myself and other guests happy,
Although the staff who were present which wasn't many, during our stay were fantastic and catered to our every need when present, full marks to the waiting, bar staff and reception team who were the saving graces of the trip and seemed to hold the place together when the manager didn't have a clue and didn't seem to posses any people skills when confronted with problems from either a guest or member of staff ,
I am appalled by the managing standard the hotel is receiving, this needs to be gravely improved, as i have stayed before and never been treated in such a way as i was on my recent visit, , i don't think there will be any future stays with the hotel if there to be as appalling as this one was,

“Brilliant Christmas”

Thainstone House Hotel

Jan 4, 2008

We have just returned from a wonderful Christmas break at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone. Our room was large, well furnished and had a spacious bathroom. It was kept spotless and was lovely and warm. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water and biscuits were topped up every day. All meals were delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient. The Christmas atmosphere was helped along by the two lovely roaring fires, one in the bar and one in the Drawing room, which were lit at all times. A thoroughly memorable Christmas in beautiful surroundings.

“Excellent value”

I stayed here for one night in a single room having booked the previous night and for £85 in this area, it represented very good value for money. The room was adequate with confortable and clean bed and a very nice bathroom. My colleague was given a suite with lounge area and bigger rooms also for £85. The breakfast was well cooked and presented and the staff excellent (although struggeld a bit with English). I would definately book again. Only downside is the driveway to the hotel is long and potholed but no traffic noise and adequate heating etc.

was at a wedding there recently at a cost £6000 . the drinks reception went well, the dinner was not the best in the world, and halfway through the evening the assistant manager(marina) tried to out-book the brides mother and bridesmaids appaling to say the least!!!! nobody from this wedding party will ever be visiting thainstone house again.4 stars i dont think so, if they were to be rated again they would not even manage 2 stars!!!
