“Not bad - Stayed for a wedding”

my sister just had her wedding here. Found that the staff werent the quickest of the block. Room was nice and large, stayed in the tower room. My sister had her dogs with her and the hotel was fine about them so that was good.

Wedding all went smoothly, food was fine. Breakfast wqs not so good, they could not keep up with the amount of people who needed fed, had to wait about for toast and eggs etc.

All in all an enjoyable stay but still a little room for improvement.,

we stayed at a family wedding here, we have 2 children but put in a room as far away from reception as possible, our baby monitors would not travel as far and the hotel had no alternitive for us to use, there was no lift so dragging a buggy and children and luggage up stairs, downstairs, upstairs and all over the place was not easy. Now for the chicken...where was it..it was under the veg! food was awful..there were many big men who needed substantial dinner but everyone was starving..the veg was raw..it was the worst BREAK I ever had...and it cost us a fortune..will NOt return. we were rushed out of our rooms with no porter in sight to help us to the reception a mile away with our kids, buggy and luggage, the only staff that were nice were the breakfast staff and 1 young barman. our bar bill was totally overpriced . lovely setting though! but not a place for family's

“beautiful setting, terrible Management Very Average”

Was at a wedding at the weekend, rooms good - breakfeast beautiful, rest of the food had alot to be desired.

Management (recptionists worst i have come across - rude and couldn't give [--])

Felt my Bar bill was overpriced but they couldn't provide the back up and refused to comprimise.

'Smoking' room was justy filled with smoke from the fire - which left my clothes stinking!

Would not reccomend this place.

“Wedding Celebrations”

Got married here back in Nov 05 and can confirm it's a beatiful setting for a wedding and the service was second to none. Great food, some brilliantly quirky rooms and a well organised wedding. All our guests had an amazing weekend and obviously so did my husband and I.

My husband and I treated ourselves to a weekend break for our 35th anniversary in July. This hotel is set in beautiful, quiet and private surrounds making it ideal for a romantic occasion.
We had such a warm welcome from the staff and enjoyed the delicious food which was well presented and promoted the best in Scottish produce.
Our room had been recently refurbished, was luxurious and spotlessly clean (I checked!) If you enjoy country pursuits or just reading by the log fire, you'll enjoy this small,welcoming hotel.
