“A real asset for Bridgnorth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

The Coach House has opened its restaurant and all I can say is, try it, It really is worth a visit. I went last night (Thursday 22nd.) with my wife and we were very impressed. The refurbishment has produced a warm, friendly and very well laid out restaurant environment. The service was friendly and professional and the food was excellent. This is great for us as we can walk to it from our house but if you arrive and the small car park is full, there is a huge car park just across the road, accessed from Severn Street. We had a tour of the accommodation and we will certainly be recommending it, as it is first class. All in all a real asset for our town and our visitors. Thankyou.

I recently became aware that the couple that used to run one of my favourite hostelries had taken over this hotel.

Excellent my wife and I thought, we must pay them a visit to see if the new place is up to the superb standard of their old establishment.

A look on Trip Advisor told us that it was indeed already being reviewed in glowing terms however there was as yet no restaurant service for the public only residents.

We could not believe our luck when a telephone call to the hotel to ask when they would be offering dining for non-residents was greeted with the reply that the restaurant was opening that very weekend.

We booked a table there and then for the opening night.

What a lovely experience.

Not only were we welcomed like long lost family but the meal that was provided was absolutely delicious.

A nice choice of starters and mains as well as scrumptious home made desserts all at a reasonable price that reflected the good quality and quantity served.

The bar although limited in its beer selection (this was the first public night, so excusable) had an excellent selection of wines and spirits.

If I say the décor is an eclectic mix which makes for a very welcoming, nice cosy and intimate atmosphere then I think that does it justice.

The dining tables are laid with crisp fresh linen which is a particular favourite of mine for a nice dining experience, for too long we have seen the trend towards "naked" tables, a la bistro.

There is ample space between tables to allow private conversation but not too much that you feel detached from the assemblage or lose the ambience.

A very comfortable and interesting lounge lies off the main dining room and though I think this is perhaps the residents lounge there were no objections to us taking an after dinner appraisal of the “water of life”.

In truth an excellent evening, with excellent food and exceptional hosts.

Give it a try, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Just come back from a night at the Coach House, perfect location with parking so a nice stroll into Town, room was really comfortable and Jane and staff really friendly, didnt eat in the restaurant which had just opened but will do in the future. Breakfast was one of the best we have had, well worth a visit.

We stayed at the Coach House on a Saturday evening, wanting to have a break from it all. It was a fantastic stay, with great rooms and comfortable beds. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Bridgnorth.

First things first - ignore all reviews that are more than 3 months old as they refer to the previous establishment. New owners took on the hotel 3 months ago and are working hard to build a deserved reputation. The hotel is situated in Low Town on the main road between Telford and Kidderminster. There are just six rooms but mine was well appointed, The bed had lots of pillows, there was tea and coffee making facilities and TV with a good range of channels. The bathroom was compact but clean and furnished with lovely fluffy towels and a nice range of toiletries. My only niggle was that the matress was a little soft for my liking - but each to his own! The cooked breakfast was excellent with excellent, clearly locally sourced, sausages and black pudding which melted in the mouth!
There is, at time of writing no evening service (bar or restaurant) although the hotel is just a few minutes walk from a plethora of eating and dining opportunities.
The main purpose for my stay was to visit the Severn Valley Railway for which the hotel is excellently located.
Jane and Nigel are very friendly and helpful hosts and despite only being there a couple of nights, it was like leaving friends on my departure.

We had previously stayed here when it was the Fox Inn - What an improvement !!!

This place has been recently taken over by Jane and Nigel who have done a great job of renovating this place. The room we stayed in was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Toiletries and tea and coffee were provided in the rooms.

Breakfast was delicious (and served in a lovely dining room). Fresh fruit, yoghurt's and cereals were provided alongside a full English with toast.

The Coach House has off-street parking (which is rare in Bridgnorth) and is situated a short easy walk to town.

We will definitely return next time we're in Bridgnorth.
