“Tried too hard”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Had a meal here as it was so handy as we were staying at the marina but a little disappointed. Very busy so thought it must have a good reputation but such a huge menu and struggled to find something we all wanted.
Staff did their best but not enough of them
Food just ok nothing special but thanks to the lovely waitress who added a candle to my granddaughters strawberries as it was her birthday

“Food awful”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

We stayed in the Tewitfield marina apartments near this hotel, and decided to order a meal, we waited for ages. Eventually the meal came I ordered the mash with Sausage the gravy was horrible and the mash and sausages where cold it tasted like an old school dinner, needless to say we did not order a meal again after that, it was a shame as the place was always busy, defiantly under staffed, for such a large hotel with cottages to rent near the Longlands Hotel.

“Great Pub Grub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

The pub itself is a great British lakes pub and serves excellent classic pub food and a great bar to have a drink in after. Really nice decor and it was very clean.

The price was very good especially when you see the quality and the price of the meals! The food was cooked excellent, we both had the rump stake which came served on a wood board along side fresh home made chips and onion rings.

Staff very friendly and helpful.

Highly recommend!

“Need to get a grip!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

Visited today (16th August) for lunch with my husband; ordered a round of sandwiches and a plate of chps - 45 minutes later still not arrived, despite asking why there was a wait. A coach tour came in after we had ordered, yet they had their food before we did! After it arrived a man came over and apologised as he hadn't put the order through. Was there the week before two with my daughter and son-in-law and we waited just as long. Certainly wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. Staff need training so you don't get forgotten about. Shame as it is the only place close to where we were staying.
