“Nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

We visited for drinks after lunch at the Hop Vine where we had to vacate our table before coffee, so did not need more food - although it looked tasty. A friend happened to be there. He was a regular and did praise the food. We liked the atmosphere and the friendly service and will certainly visit again.

“Box Tree the place to Be!!! Fab”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

I am a regular visitor to this little 'gem' of a place ........ love it and so do all the friends and family I keep introducing to the 'tea room experience'. The attention to detail is second to none and of course the food is super, as everyone says !! The staff are so friendly and very welcoming and you never feel rushed even though they are often very busy but always a smile and a little chat.
Really can't recommend it enough. Just give it a go !!!!!

“Cakes like grandma used to make”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

Small cosy tea rooms. Felt a bit like you were in the Lake District.
The cakes where delicious. I had a slice of lemon drizzle cake which melted in my mouth, yummy. My mum had a piece of apple merengue cake, which had the merengue on the top and sponge and apple in the middle.it looked about 6 inches deep..well worth a visit, and afterwards you can look around Burscough wharf, with it other shops, restaurants and gallery

“Box Tree Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

I am quite a regular visitor to the Box Tree, not your average tea room,I dont normally entertain them, im not the tea room type of bloke! However this is an exception, more like a tea room on steroids! Nice comfortable surroundings, friendly staff with a nice personal touch and portions the size to fill the biggest eaters! Try the home made soup and sandwhich, fresh home made soup and lovely fresh locally baked bread, delivered daily. I like ham and cheese, which is made with fresh cut ham in thick slices and plenty of real cheese all washed down with a Latte or two. Or try the BLT which is again nice and freshly prepared. I dont think the average tea room type will be able to eat all they serve you here. Finish it off with a nice big slab of home made cake or better still a fresh scone with butter jam and cream. Go on all you lads out there take your Mother like i do or the Mrs they will love it and you will too! see you soon

“Friendly atmosphere with lovely food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

When we go out on our bikes our first stop is usually well past Burscough, but today was too cold so we ended up stopping much sooner and having heard good reports about Box Tree Tea Rooms at Burscough Wharf we decided to give it a go. The attitude of the staff was perfect, they couldn't do enough to help, creating a lovely atmosphere with a smile. The coffee was perfect and the gluten free toast for me and thick toast for my husband was just what we needed. I would highly recommend this lovely little tea rooms and will be visiting again soon.
