Visited as a family of 8 on Boxing Day, admittedly we arrived a little early but didn't receive a nice welcome and was told by the barman that we were early, we then stood near the bar area expecting to order a round of drinks but nobody seemed to want to serve us until we all sat down at our table.
Once seated they brought our pre-ordered meals, starters were ok but couldn't work out why the toast was served after the pate. The mains were good especially the steak pie, however we didn't expect it to be served with a plateful of sprouts and carrots from Christmas Day having already had them with our Christmas Dinner like most people! The desserts were adequate but nothing special for a Christmas menu, up until this point service had been fine but we were then left with our dessert plates in front of us for at least 20 mins, no offer of tea or coffee was made or extra drinks even after plates cleared.
When the bill was brought we had been charged £25 for a round of drinks we hadn't had, we assumed this to be a genuine error, but, my Sister in law said the exact same had happened to them the last time they visited, so maybe not an error!!! It was the Manager who brought the bill but after my daughter and niece got the bill rectified it was brought over by just one of the waitress who apologised, the Manager was nowhere to be seen!
All in all it was ok for maybe just a quick meal out but i wouldn't go again for an occasion.
