“Cawsand beach - lovely hidden treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2011

Cawsand is a picturesque village that has a lovely shingle beach. You can get to it from Plymouth via multiple routes but we always take the Cawsand Ferry which is £4/person each way and about a 20 minute journey.

In my experience the beach has always been clean and not rammed full of people and if you want a break, Cawsand and Kingsand are lovely to wander around and there are a couple of places to eat. It's also worth mentioning that the village shop (The Shop In The Square) does ice creams as well as a variety of other things such as body boards and wetsuit booties.

“Kingsand beach spoilt by dog pooh!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2010

22/09/2010 - Just returned following a week in a self catering cottage on the front at Kingsand - very nice indeed.
Our concern ,however, is that Kingsand has no dog restrictions and is a haven for dog owners who allow their animals to deficate on the beach without any concern for the health of others.
The neighbouring beach at Cawsand has restrictions between Easter and 31st September but the local Parish Council feel the current arrangements for Kingsand are satisfactory.
It's up to you if you want to put your own and or childrens health at risk despite the place being a really nice spot for a holiday
