Gardaland advertised a 'magical winter experience' at their resort in December and January. I went there on a weekend after it had snowed the previous day. The night before I had asked on their website if they were going to be open on that day, and they replied 'always'.
Arriving there I was let down. Most of the rides were closed.
The few rides that were open were all indoors, except one. Also, all but two, was only in Italian, although I had the impression that everything would be billingual.
I went on the adventure type of rides. It was exciting, but I didn't understand any of it, since it was all in Italian...
The staff only stood around and stared at you. There weren't any signs indicating which rides were open and which not. I had to walk up to a staff member and only when I reached him/her he/she told me whether it was open or not.
There were very few people and there wasn't any atmosphere.
The Ice Age 4D ride was impressive, but could have been done much better. The Egyptian ride is interactive and quite fun, but lacks adrenaline. Everyone gets points, but no one wins...which is quite lame...
Shows inside the park aren't included in the ticket price (lame!!!!). So most of the rides were closed and the shows were pricy, so basicly I could only go on like 4 rides.
There were some Christmas decorations and Christmas market-like stalls.
There is a free shuttle from Peschiera del Garda train station, which is convenient.
I recommend the park close in winter rather than pretending to be open, but really be as good as closed.
