“Wonderful quiet Hotel outside Pisa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2014

Our one night in Pisa at the Airone Pisa Park was part misfortune – our original hotel was over booked and part good luck – it could not have been better than this one.
We were all a bit disgruntles that we had to move to hotel outside Pisa as we only had one afternoon and were not staying in the original hotel, which was nearer the Tower. However we were met with Staff that were really welcoming and friendly, they got us settled in our rooms quickly while they organized complimentary transport into Pisa, Wow!.
The hotel is situated in open farm land 5 minutes outside Pisa it is quiet and peaceful. The rooms are large and clean with a large shower for once. Again no tea and coffee in the room, but not a drawback as this is standard in Italy. There is a large swimming pool where you can sit and take in some sun. The fact that the hotel is situated in farmland, amongst some small canals and rivers, means there are some mosquitoes about. However the hotel supplies ample protection for your room at night and coming from Africa this was just normal. So do not let this put you off.
We had dinner that night in the restaurant, which was very good, wide variety of choice especially seafood. Breakfast was again good if not the variety we had experienced in the earlier hotels.

We only stayed here for 2 days at the end of our trip to Italy but i cannot recommend this hotel more highly. The staff were really welcoming and friendly, i had no cash when i arrived to Pisa but the hotel has a couple of bikes out front that they make available to guests so i could cycle to nearby ATM, on the way back had a puncture but the hotel were cool about it, offered to pay to fix it but they said it was alright. Later on we went for lunch at the hotel restaurant but the chef was sick so the hotel manager lent us his car so we could to a restaurant in Pisa, have to say never had that experience at a hotel before. The restaurant was open on sat night, chef must have been feeling better? so we went for a meal there which was very good value for money, they also had a DJ/Karaoke evening and while only 7 guests were there all the hotel staff came out after meals were served and mixed in with the guests and everyone had a good laugh. If you do want to go into Pisa then you can get the bus which is 200 mts from the hotel and costs a couple of Euro or you can get a cab which is about 8 - 10 euros. This hotel represents very good value and is a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside.

Just back from 8 days at this lovely hotel..It is a little bit out from the city but a good bus service is just a short walk away and it drops you right by the leaning tower.,The hotel is lovely if you like peace and quite, it has a lovely restaurant with good value food and wine . we had a great night singing and dancing in the reaturant on one night , the staff joined in and all had a great night. Bikes are available at no cost and we cycled around the lovely back roads stopping to have lunch. The staff were the kindest I have ever net on a trip , special mention has to be given to Rosario , Andrea and Marco at the front desk, also thre restaurant staff were great. The pool is in the garden near the restaurant , it's large , clean if a little cold .
All in all we had a great time and will defenitaly return .

Room Tip: Lucca is a must place to see . its only a 20 min bus ride.

We stayed for a few days at the beginning and end of our trip to Italy. Located in quiet countryside withe mountains in the background and yet under 10 minutes drive into Pisa by bus. Very peaceful after the bustle of the city. a warm welcome and a large traditionally furnished room, with ensuite. Mosquito blinds on the windows. Linen and towels excellent and cleanliness. The bus goes from Lucca (a must) into Pisa, past the tower, to the train station (for Florence and Sienna) to the airport. No need for a taxi.

Room Tip: Ask for the original building. We had a view of the pool and the mountains.

We stayed here at the beginning of October for 3 nights. It is a friendly little hotel in a nice location. Our room was basic and a little dated but perfectly adequate. The bathroom could do with a good scrub into the corners to get rid of a the black mould but otherwise the room was clean and fresh. The hotel is set in lovely grounds but it was all a bit "shaggy" when we arrived which we thought was a real shame as the gardens and quiet location are the hotels USP. The next day the mower was out and some one spent ages cutting the grass in the pool area which looked much more inviting afterwards. The back lawn had already been done but other areas remained untouched. There is a table tennis table but it was in shin-high grass! Note to hotelier: Please make more effort with the gardens, regular mowing & strimming would so much improve the look and feel of your lovely hotel. Also more tourist information about the surrounding area would be great. A copy of the bus timetable in the room and a map of the locality would be great. There is a bus timetable on the wall in reception but it is right by door and the automatic door keeps opening and closing as you read it. The hotel has a bicycles that they lend to guests which is a great idea and was much appreciated by many. You can take a ride around the local fields along the dykes or up to San Guiliano Terme or into Pisa. Their is a route off the main road into Pisa but I am not sure where it is. Again a map of the locality would be useful. Although it is easy to catch a bus either into Pisa or to Lucca, if I stayed here again we would definitely hire a car. We would be able to get much more out of our stay and not have to spend so much time waiting for buses which are not always on time. Also they stop running at 8.30pm so if you go into Pisa for dinner then a taxi back will cost around 10 Euro. As other people have mentioned to breakfast is great. The restaurant was OK. We had a nice lunch there on our first day. The ate their one evening also but we were less impressed. The meat was slightly under cooked in our mixed grill and it being all pork-based (sausages, chops and ribs) the blood in the middle was a bit off putting! Anyway we ate what we could without complaining and asked for the bill. By now we were the only people left in the place but it still took them about half an hour (and a reminder) to bring it. We were a bit annoyed by then as they passed us so many many time totally ignoring our inquiring and progressively annoyed looking faces! When we finally growled at one of them the bill turned up in seconds it had been sitting on the counter but nobody had bothered to deliver it to our table! We did not go again! Anyway other than the slow "service" in the restaurant we had a great trip and we would stay at the Airone Pisa Park again but we would hire a car next time.

Room Tip: We had room number 31 which is a decent size. It has a lovely view from the doorway over the back ga...

We enjoyed our stay once we got to the hotel (see my note at the end). It's a very pretty place, with a lush courtyard and pool and flowers all around. There's plenty of parking around the back. We checked in and were given an electronic keycard for our room. We found our room to be a bit small, but clean, with vinyl wood flooring, king bed, a desk, closet, and updated bathroom. Amenities include TV, good wi-fi (password protected), fridge, bottled water, and a hairdryer. By the way, you need to insert the keycard into the slot inside the door for the lights to work. Since there's a small stream nearby, we had to keep the door closed to keep the mosquitoes out. There was a pest control service spraying there the next morning so they do try to keep it under control. Breakfast was very nice, served from 7:00 to 10:00 in a glassed in terrace area. They had assorted sliced meats and cheeses, pastries, croissants, hard boiled eggs, rolls, yogurt, fruit, coffee Americano or cappuccino on request. It's not within walking distance of Pisa, you'll need to drive or take a bus.
Note: Our GPS had us going to the other end of Via Sant'Elena which had a sign for the hotel directing us past this entrance and up the road. With a little help from a nice lady nearby, we found the correct entrance off of SS12. There's a sign there and you go to the end of the road and cross the bridge on the left to arrive at the hotel.

This is my 9th visit to this hotel, i love coming back to the tranquil setting -- it takes 1 hour and 45 mins on the plane from stansted and i can leave on the 8.15 flight and be at the pool by lunch time. I normally dont hire a car but this time we treated ourselves - however it is very easy to stay at this hotel without a car - there are buses that stop 200 metres from the hotel that will take you into pisa or in the other direction to Lucca (a must). You can get a taxi at the airport which will cost you no more than 15 euros - ask for Aironi Pisa Park - most drivers know it.

The hotel is a family run business so there are budget restraints in its decor and the curtains and throws are now in need to be changed due to their dated appearance. Dont let this put you off. The sheets and towels are clean and fresh.

The staff are so helpful and will go out of their way to make your trip enjoyable - the receptionist extended my car hire which didnt cost me any extra (probably because he spoke italian and not english).

Use the hotel bike - come out of the hotel go across the small bridge and turn left - you will see an ancient aquaduct at the end of the path - and cycle down by the vinyards and taste the grapes - it is idealic.

Pisa, altho very touristy never fails to bring a smile - Lucca in the other direction is my favourite place.

The restaurant (which i believe to be run seperately) is not worth the visit unless you are tired at the end of the day - there is a supermarket down the road (may be a mile or a little bit more) that you can cycle to and get bread, cheese and wine - and eat in the most tranquil settings. Do this bike ride before it gets too hot - ive done this ride many times with my daughter on the back and im in my 50's.

The pool is often empty, so if you have kids, its yours for the day as everyone is out sightseeing.

There is a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, just outside of Pisa - the bus will take you from the hotel and drop you right outside, it is in the same road (A12) and takes about 5 minutes - handbags, shoes, fruit, roasted chickens - well worth a visit and you feel like a local :).

Room Tip: Room No. 3 - faces pool and has table and chairs and small patio
