We visited Villa Lecchi in May, 2014, as part of our Smithsonian Highlights of Italy tour. It was the perfect place to stay to visit the Tuscany Valley area. The food and wine served for dinner was delicious and just the right amount. Breakfast service was 4 stars with a great selection of cheeses, eggs, pizza, fruit and breads, coffee, tea or cappuccino, even! The room we had was very unique; there are only a few of these suites that included our own private tower which gave us an awesome view of the valley. There are antiques everywhere but the accommodations are very up-to-date. Our bathroom included a full soak tub and separate shower. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The ceilings are high which adds to the victorian feel of the Villa. We experienced a heavy thunder storm while there which revealed there may still be some improvements needed. Our old beautiful windows leaked a bit around the frame, but only the carpet got wet. This little wetness did nothing to detract our experience. In fact, it was amazing to sit in the tower while the storm was happening! I would love to go back there. The family owned property is well run with love and care for each of their guest. I thank Loara and her family for their wonderful hospitality.
