“Romantic Italy in Full Bloom”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We visited Villa Lecchi in May, 2014, as part of our Smithsonian Highlights of Italy tour. It was the perfect place to stay to visit the Tuscany Valley area. The food and wine served for dinner was delicious and just the right amount. Breakfast service was 4 stars with a great selection of cheeses, eggs, pizza, fruit and breads, coffee, tea or cappuccino, even! The room we had was very unique; there are only a few of these suites that included our own private tower which gave us an awesome view of the valley. There are antiques everywhere but the accommodations are very up-to-date. Our bathroom included a full soak tub and separate shower. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The ceilings are high which adds to the victorian feel of the Villa. We experienced a heavy thunder storm while there which revealed there may still be some improvements needed. Our old beautiful windows leaked a bit around the frame, but only the carpet got wet. This little wetness did nothing to detract our experience. In fact, it was amazing to sit in the tower while the storm was happening! I would love to go back there. The family owned property is well run with love and care for each of their guest. I thank Loara and her family for their wonderful hospitality.

Room Tip: Be sure to tell them your exact needs. Obviously, the "better" rooms will be higher price...

This is a fabulous spot. A family run enterprise in a grand building on top of a ridge with beautiful views across to San Gimignano. laura makes everyone feel welcome, her husband and mother do most of the cooking and her sister works hard in the restuarant.

Relaxing Tuscany location with fantastic views in every direction. Stayed 4 nights in comfortable clean room. Breakfasts were amazing with great variety to meet anyone's desires. Family that runs this is warm, kind, helpful, efficient. We were part of a small tour group and used this as a base. Wish I had been there longer to take advantage of pool and hot tub. Laundry service was excellent and affordable compared to rest of Italy.

Everything was absolutely wonderful except the bathroom, which had a slight odor in the evenings. We had to close the door and open a window. Everything else about this hotel was top-notch. Very friendly family/staff. Service was fantastic. Great setting. Very relaxing. Would go again.

Room Tip: do not get room 12. Others reported no problems with their rooms at all.

My son and I stayed at Villa Lecchi when we traveled through Italy last June with Odysseys International small tour group. What an unexpected treat this was. The Villa is run by Laura and her family. Three generations all working together to make you feel at home. Laura's Mom cooks all the meals and her husband does the baking. Her two boys are there too. Laura is so welcoming to everyone and the Villa has been beautifully restored by them. The views are breathtaking. This was my favorite place that we stayed during our three week visit to Italy.

I recently stayed at the Villa Lecchi for 4 nights on a guided tour. It was wonderful and the highlight of the trip. The rooms (in a restored 18th century villa) were large and very comfortable. The Villa sits on top of a hill with incredible views of the Tuscan countryside in all directions. The owner (Laura) and her extended family will make you feel completely at home. The food is excellent and the portions will make you feel full without feeling stuffed. Breakfast is wonderful with frittatas and pizza and just about anything else you can imagine.

When I return to Tuscany, I will stay at the Villa, rent a car and take day trips to Florence, Siena and other Tuscan attractions. I will return to the Villa mid afternoon and take walks or sit on the terrace and drink sangria and admire the countryside. It doesn't get any better.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any bad rooms

This is one of the most beautiful places! The view is amazing any time of the day. The owners do anything they can to make you fell welcome & pampered. Delicious food and beautiful rooms combined with the hospitality of the family makes you never want to leave. I can't say enough good things about Villa Lecchi - I would recommend to everyone!
