“Beautiful hill town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014

The ride through the winding cypresses is breath taking. Make sure to eat at La Porta! The terrace over looking the tuscan hills is amazing!

“Charming little town in the Tuscan hills”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

Worth the hike from Montepulciano and with an intriguing modern history post WWII as well as going way back to medieval times. Once run-down and almost abandoned, it has been lovingly restored and sports a couple of excellent restaurants and wine bars.

“A beautiful little hill-town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2014

Monticchiello turned out to be a wonderful little town - more a village. It has scarcely any shops, which meant very few tourists (at least when we were there on the Monday of Holy Week) so it was peaceful, quiet and unspoilt. It was spotlessly clean (like most of the towns we visited) and the houses were in beautiful condition, their warm honey-coloured stone enhanced by the sunlight. There isn't a single unauthentic building to be seen; just medieval houses looking as they did hundreds of years ago.

“Nice little village tucked in the hills”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

A cute little town to visit if you have an hour or so to kill. We walked around it in about an hour (slowly as we were taking pictures) and enjoyed the views and old world feel with the medieval architecture that is in contrast to the Renaissance style of many other towns in the area. The little Wine Bar before you enter the town is staffed by friendly people who gave us a nice simple lunch and small wine tasting before we headed out of town.
