We spent 3 nights here in mid-september, after travelling From Pisa to Lucca to Florence and Siena. Charles had advised us Via email a particular route to take from Siena to the Pietramonti along a slightly longer scenic route which set the tone brilliantly; Directions worked and we found the place with no trouble. Loved the regional gravel roads. The Pietramonti itself looked fantastic as we pulled up. Knocked on the main door and were warmly greeted by Charles and Peter. We were then taken to our room which didn't disappoint, spacious, clean, very tastefully decorated and comfortable, LOVED the shower! A 5 star standard! It was evening and we were invited to dinner as prepared by our fantastic hosts. I really cannot say enough about our hosts, without whom it would not be the same. A 5 star guesthouse with 5 star hospitality sets the Pietramonti apart from everywhere else we stayed, while in Tuscany. Enjoyed the Hot Tub at night while listening to the sound of crickets, and looking out over the valley, fantastic! The area around is well worth exploring, as are the ground of the Pietramonti itself. Hope the Olive harvest goes well guys. I wonder if Peter will still be picking them by hand come the end.... For practical information I would recommend having a car coming here as not only would you need one but it pays to get you around the local villages. Rooms were excellent with Free ( Well functioning) Wifi. No television in the rooms (which is done on purpose) but you don't need to watch corny Italian TV when in this country oasis. Good breakfast included too. Also if you need any advice ( or even if you didn't think you did ) ask Charles for places to go, things to do and see and places to eat. We went wine tasting with them and you can go over the valley to the local cheese producer. Can't recommend this place enough. Wish Charles and Peter all the best in this venture and the future; Tommy & Stephen.
