“Perfect stay near Pienza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2010

We stayed 5 nights at this wonderful inn and loved every minute. The location is perfect for exploring SE Tuscany, the staff is exceptional, and the property is gorgeous (fantastic bed and shower!). Great value too considering how perfect our stay was. We arranged a cooking class one night and it was a highlight of our 10 days in the area. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

This 12 room restored inn just down the road from Pienza has been beautifully restored and furnished by the owner. Brick floors, old ceiling beams, rustic antique furniture and colorful rugs, large casement windows with pulldown screens, old stone fireplace surrounds, and bedrooms furnished with antiques, oriental rugs, down duvets and pillows and and modern limestone bathrooms with thick white towels attest to the taste and expense that went in to creating this delightful place. The grounds are landscaped with slopes of lavendar, rosemary, santolina and roses, and the beautiful pool is nestled down in a corner of the yard with views out over the Tuscan countryside. Our host was very friendly and helpful with suggestions for touring and meals. The breakfasts, taken in good weather outside on the terrace, included an assortment of homemade pastries, juices, fruit, cereal, an egg dish and coffee. Altogether, a wonderful, peaceful place, close to Pienza, Montepulciano and a host of lovely small hilltowns.

Our family of 4 have the privledge of staying at the Tenuta Santo Pietro for 6 wonderful days in the heat of July....we couldn't have picked a better place! I will concur with the many previous reviewers that the villa - it's design & layout, fabulous location between the two beautiful villages of Montepulciano and Pienza , lovely furnishings, incredibly comfy beds and fabulous linens, lovely gardens, and pool ......are ALL top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the charming Giuseppe who attended to our every need from dinner reservations, wine recommendations, to car rentals, to teaching us all how to make picci along with the other guests - a favorite family memory of our trip to Italy. This is a well run villa with fabulous accomodations and attentive staff . We feel blessed to have had the opportunity to spend six wonderful days in this little piece of heaven! Thankyou Guiseppe and staff for a wonderful stay and family memories - We look forward to our next visit when we hope to meet the newest little addition of your team. All the very best and thanks so much for a wonderful holilday!

Great location. Between Pienza and Moltepucciano. The owner has done a fabulous job renovating the entire property. Each room has an updated bath room, air conditioning, screens on windows. The owner speaks excellent english and had fabulous recommendations for lunch and dinner and things to do around Tuscany. Breakfast was yummy and made on property. very clean. Pool and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. We stayed in Vermentino. the room was wonderful. when windows were open we could here the street traffic a little and would probably stay in Malvasia or Canaiolo which would overlook the gardens toward the back of the property next time.

Santo Pietro is a restored Tuscan Country home, elegant, spacious, and beautifully furnished and appointed. Our room felt good with its rustic stone floors, its breezy windows that overlooked Pienza, the gardens, and the courtyard and a high quality mattress, that facilitated a relaxing sleep. Because everything was only recently built or renovated the house has modern amenities throughout, designer bathrooms, plush furniture and yet all is beautifully integrated into the traditional Tuscan setting. A designing job well done – inside and out. House and gardens are sprawling with many rooms that are accessible to the guests, e.g., a pool room, living rooms, sitting rooms, and outdoor courtyards. There is a beautiful pool with a spectacular view of Pienza in the distance that is framed by woods on two sides as if looking at a framed picture of Pienza. The pool area is embedded in a park like garden that is superbly landscaped and overlooks vineyards and fruit and olive orchards. What a perfect spot for enjoying a bottle of wine and some prosciutto while listening to the hypnotics incantations of the cuckoos and watching the birds sail high over the vineyards. One couldn’t wish for a more perfect Tuscan hill-top setting. See for yourself in attached photos.

Tenuto Santo Pietro is a lovely property with a host who really does try to make your stay memorable. Guissepe managed to hire a car for us which had proved impossible for us to do in the Uk because we had to cancel our credit card. With recommendations of places to visit, and a restaurant booked for us every evening it made the trip so relaxed.

The room was spacious and well furnished, bedding is excellent quality and bathroom modern with very good fittings. My only recommendation with choice of room is not to choose one next to the road. We live in a very quiet spot in the UK and did find it difficult to sleep with the traffic so close by, on quite a busy road

We will certainly be returning to Tuscany, hopefully for longer next time.

We stayed for 6 nights in Tenuta Santo Pietro in June during our annual trip to this region. We have stayed over the years in many of the different types of accomodation in the Val d'oOrcia, several being favourites which we have returned to year after year. However, whilst searching Trip Advisor I came across this newcomer with terrific reviews and great photographs.
Having checked out the website which usefully has the plans of the property allowing you to choose your room, we booked for the entire trip in the Malvasia room., selecting it for its orientation withe sun and views. It did not disapoint and we were thrilled with the lightness of the room andthe fact that it was extremely well appointed., In particular we loved the very comfy bed and good quality linens and bedding, and the contemporary and sunny bathroom. We also appreciated the excellent quality windows which allowed us to sleep all night with the windows wide open allowing the breeze to drift in whilst keeping the bugs out. Each night we would listen to the soothing night sounds and then welcome the fantastic 5.00am dawn chorus. In fact, we got up and sat on the lovely contemporary garden settees one morning at 4.30am just to watch the dawn break and hear the birds singing..
Tenuta Santo Pietrio is run by the handsome, intelligent and enthusiastic Giuseppe and his team, and we would like to take this opportunity fo thank them for their dedicated efforts to ensure that all their guests have a special stay. We looked forward to our chats with Giuseppe in the mornings as he checked if we needed help or guidance on how to spend our days.We learnt much about the area in which we were staying in and enjoyed his obvious pride in the considerable achievment in the restoration of his beautiful property.
We enjoyed the very beautiful gardens, and gorgeous pool, and its hard to drag yourself away from this peaceful paradise and go sight seeing. When it is finally time to leave I am sure that all guests will find it hard to say goodbye, and as you are driving away, just like us, you will start planning your next visit to tay with Giuseppe at Santo Pietro in the Val D'Orcia.
