La Quiete in Pienza is a wonderful place to stay to explore the southern part of Tuscany. The house is extremely nice. We had one of the 2 rooms with a view of the front porch/lawn with a very nice private bathroom in suite. Vasco the owner could not have been nicer. I found this place in the Rick Steve's book but could not find anything on tripadvisor so I was reluctant. Don't be! This is a hidden gem that is very reasonable. Besides your room you have the run of the house and yard. The view of the valley from his front lawn is Spectacular, Val La Orca? There is a path from his house to the wonderful town of Pienza that takes about 5 minutes to walk, much longer if you bring a camera a take as many pictures as I did. It was soooo nice to just walk to dinner instead of driving after a day of exploring. Vasco will make suggestions and dinner reservations. He also equipped us with maps of the region for the next days exploration. You are close to so many nice Tuscany towns so this was a great place to stay. Parking is free across the street in a little well protected lot. For what we paid this place was a steal.
