“Quiet and relaxing, close to Pienza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

Stayed 1 night in June, would have liked to stay longer.
Spacious room and a superb breakfast which included their homemade jams.
You need a car to get here as it is 1.5kms from Pienza.
From here we drove around the Tuscan countryside (the Val d'Orcia) with the nearby towns of Montepulciano, PIenza, and Montalcino. Pienza is a picturesque and very small medieval hill town. Parking can be difficult but there is a larger lot on the north side of the town.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

We stayed in the La Torre apartment with a total of 4 adults and 1 baby. Initially, I was concerned with the size, but when we arrived, it was so much larger than anticipated. It was spacious and felt like our own, cozy house in the heart of Southern Tuscany! Even better were the views out each of its windows. The pictures just don't do the countryside any justice...it has to be one of the most gorgeous places on earth!

We stayed in mid-May, but had unseasonably cool weather. It rained quite a bit during our stay, which put a damper on the trip a bit, as I intended on swimming and sun-bathing by their infinity pool. Even if it had been toasty, the pool wasn't ready. They had just starting filling it when we arrived, and wasn't complete until 4-5 days later. Also, by the looks of the pictures, I thought they had a hot tub/Jacuzzi, but they don't.

Francisco and his family were great though. Francisco speaks fairly good english, and was gracious enough to give us a tour of their olive mill, which is adjacent to the agriturismo. They produce extremely high quality olive oil, and the pride he has in his product is quite apparent, after all, his family has been producing olive oil for many generations. As guests, we were given a free bottle, but opted to buy an additional 9 between all of us beauce it was so good.

As for breakfast, each morning we looked forward to the homemade pastries and panna cotta that Francisco's mother made. Heavenly! And while we loaded up our plates with all the tasty treats we wanted, staff served us fresh coffee to order. This was all included in the price of our stay.

The agriturismo is about 1 Km from Pienza's city center, so it was convenient in that respect. You could walk into town, but we opted not to since there wasn't a sidewalk or safe route along the road, and with a baby we didn't want to chance it. Pienza is a beautiful town though, but unfortunately, we didn't feel very welcomed by the locals. Generally, they seemed to despise tourists. When we went into town, I always had a sense of anxiety and feeling that we were infringing on their existence. This is one reason I am not giving the the agriturismo an "excellent" rating; however, I must make it clear that we ALWAYS felt welcomed by Francisco and the staff...it has nothing to do with them. Additionally, we always felt welcomed in the other towns in the area...especially Montepulciano (loved this town and it was close by).

Again the staff was great, and the property beautifully situated and pristinely well-kept (our apartment was cleaner than any hotel room I've ever stayed in...impeccable!), but one of the areas they could improve is their communication prior to arrival. I sent a couple of emails in the process of planning our trip that either went unanswered or it took weeks for a response.

Overall though, I recommend this Agriturismo!

We stayed 6 nights in this Agriturismo. We were photographing the surroundings. Pretty central from all good locations like Montalcino, Montepulciano, Siena, etc...
The kitchen-dining room-living room is like one I have seen only in magazines: great, huge, very tipique, in a word perfect. Kitchen has some equipment and you can make some great dinner as we did.
The bathroom is rather minuscule but we did not care since we did not pent a lot of time there. Bed room is ok size and well decorated in the Tuscan style.
The owner and his staff are very useful to give you some information and directions and good spots to see. The price is also quite right. Did I mentioned it is quiet and located in a beautiful country environment.

I shall return for sure!

Its a family hotel, very well kept. Special thanks to Franchesco, one of the owners, and his wife, both very thoughtfull and polite. The vews are wonderfull, the room (actually, an apartament with living room) was excellent, and the property is very cozy. Very close to Pienza.

This little agriturismo in the middle of the Val d'Orcia is great. The apartments come fully equiped, and are a great size and nicely decorated. For me it was even more important that it was very, very, clean. The wi-fi worked perfectly.
Pienza is 1 km away and it is just the perfect size. Small enough to be cute, but big enough for nice stores, good restaurants, etc.
As other reviewers say the breakfast is nice. It has a lot of cakes, fruit pies, and the pannacota is to die for. However, they don't offer much in terms of breads. No chance to make a toast... which would have gone great with those homemade jams. Not a lot of salty either. Maybe this doesn't happen during high season, but in February we got reheated old bread (from our previous breakfast) that was not edible. It's a shame because getting a few rolls of bread is easy and cheap and that's the only reason I don't give this place a 5. We'll return, hopefully when there are more guests and there's fresh food daily.

Room Tip: The lower level rooms don't seem to have much privacy. I'd go for first floor even when they...

We stayed here in Mid- November, a beautiful Agriturismo ( Accomadation on a working farm ) right in the heart of the tuscan country side.
The grounds and facilities were out of the top draw - lovely swimming pool.
The rooms were very spacious and nicely furnished, definately no short cuts on the quality here.
Breakfast was most pleasant and stood you in good stead for the rest of the day - loads of homemade cakes and tarts by the mother of the household.

Francesco and the staff were very helpful by recommending restaurants and places of interests.
We took a walk down to the olive mill and were given a tour by Francesco, very informative and interesting.

Pienza is only 1 km away and a nice place to head for an evening meal.

Room Tip: We stayed in the apartment style room - loads of space - dining room table - cooking facilities etc.

The location with an renovated old farm was like advertisement on Tuscany countryside. The room, better to say spacious living room with kitchen and bedroom was very nice, beatifully furnished. The breakfast was excellent with product from adjacent farm. We bought very good olive oil there.Excellent place for romantic weekend or for honeymoon.
