“A perfect reflection of Tuscany”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

When we first arrived and met Ousmane we knew we were in for a treat. My personality is an understatement. Ousame welcomed us to his hotel, his town and to Tuscany. When we told him that our friends (who I also recommended the hotel to) were joining us he immediately welcomed them, upgrading their room and offering to drive us to his three favourite wineries in the area. Without Ousame, we would never have found these unique wineries, each offering a different perspective on winemaking in Tuscany. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant with wine before in our gorgeous suite. Each room has a beautiful view of the countryside. The lighting is abit dim, perfect for a romantic evening but not so good if you like to read after the romance. This hotel is a definate must in a very quiet but quaint village.

Room Tip: Ask for a suite.

A beautifully restored villa in this beautiful and tiny (and very old) hill-top village that manages to live up to its rather ambitious website description - very relaxing and high quality, where everyone is treated as though they are an old friend. Ouzmane and Linda are the perfect hosts, greeting you with a glass of wine on arrival and sharing a joke or 3.

From a tourist's perspective, it's brilliantly positioned and within easy access to many of the local towns, vineyards and olive groves.

The restaurant is high quality and reasonable value, although the menu didn't change in the 4 days we stayed there, which was mildly disappointing. Also, there are no loungers anywhere to enjoy an afternoon nap in the sunshine, just 'bistro' style chairs with small dining tables outside.

Also, it's a short, but very steep climb from the car park to the hotel, so it may not be suitable for people who aren't as mobile as they may once have been.

Overall, a fabulous 'home' with perfect hosts - we will be back!!

Room Tip: Avoid Michelangelo which can be noisy (it's above the café next door) and ask for a room with a...

We always check TripAdvisor before booking and Palazzo Brandano certainly lived up to all its excellent reviews. Location ...absolutely superb, even though you need nerves of steel if you venture to drive up to the Hotel entrance( parking below is far easier and Ousmane will happily help collect bags without you dragging them up the very steep hill!) The building is pure classic Tuscany but inside has been gently modernized without losing any charm. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable , air conditioned and bathrooms updated so that everything works! Trust me that is not something to ignore. A perfect base to explore Tuscany from. There are indoor and outdoor areas to relax in, where you can read or as we did, enjoy the company of other guests and share a bevy (or two...) Dinner at the restaurant is an experience all of its own. Food ...excellent. Service....excellent. All I can say is that we loved every moment at this Hotel. The staff, the guests and the Accordion player from Siena. A special thanks to Ousmane and Linda( Julia Roberts) .

Room Tip: All are good.

We spent one week in the hotel Palazzo Brandano with our 2 children early August and had a fantastic time. The accomodation and food were great. We actually chose to have most of our dinners at the hotel as the food was so fresh and Ousmane had a great selection of wines. Our kids even ordered a chocolate fondant that was not on the menu.
The breakfast was all you could ask for: freshly baked cakes, fresh bread, fresh fruit salad, hot chocolate and cereals, eggs...
After having spent one week in a 5 stars hotel with Spa in the area, we finally discovered Tuscany thanks to Ousmane who took us to great places including an olive oil factory, win and ham tasting and pecorino (cheese) factory. ousmane also recommended a couple of restaurants in the area where we met locals.
Overall a fanstatic experience and we will be back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the biggest suite on the first floor. Great room. Quiet and with air conditioning.

My family and I ate here on two nights and we could not have had a better experience of Tuscan food and hospitality. Idyllically set with breathtaking views over the Tuscan hills, the two evenings we spent here were fantastic. The food was amazing, and Ousmane organised a great cooking class where I learnt how to cook a five course meal at very short notice. I thoroughly recommend staying here to anyone wanting to visit Tuscany-perfect for a romantic break but also for families. Ousmane is the perfect host and made our meals so memorable. This was the highlight of our holiday in Tuscany and I look forward to staying here in the future.
