We just returned from a two week vacation in Italy - one week in Florence and one week in Rome with our 17 year old son and daughter. Our week in Tuscany was spent at Villa Casa di Monte and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Everything about our stay was first rate - from the communications leading up to our stay right through to the family's hospitality as we said good -bye. Before our trip, Jessica kept in close contact and helped arrange our tickets to the Uffizi and the Academia. A wonderful meal was prepared for us on our arrival night that we enjoyed in a lovely room in the family's 1000 year old home just steps up the private drive. We also had a great wine tasting lead by Linda along with fabulous appetizers cooked by matriarch Antonella in a tower room that the family has built on their vineyard property - they produce terrific Tuscan wines and olive oil from the vines and trees on their property. Jessica also set us up with a great meal at a local restaurant Il Focolarie. The house we had actually had two separate apartments, each with its own kitchen. The pictures on the Internet don't do it justice. They are great living spaces with nice amenities and 6 real bedrooms - only one of which is a single. The views of the Tuscan countryside from the upper bedrooms are magnificent. The lovely pool and the separate patio round out a beautiful living space and perfect base for exploring Tuscany. Montespertoli is perfectly located to explore the area: 30 minutes to Florence, 50 minutes to Pisa, 40 minutes to San Gimignano, 55 minutes to Sienna. We just had a wonderful time and loved staying at Villa Casa di Monte. We felt welcomed like family. I can't think of any way to make an experience in Tuscany any better! I know everyone in my family is already dreaming of going back.
