“WOW!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

What can I say?? Me and my wife arrived and Francesca came to the Main Street to get us. As we arrived Francesca and Carlo gave us the best welcoming ever and showed us the room. What a surprise!!! I have been to many hotels and many places but this excels. We had the verde room (green). It was absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was good, fantastic hosts, lovely village with plenty of bars, the restaurant next door is not to be missed either and very cheap!! I would recommend it to anyone without thinking about it.
Thank you Francesca and Carlo.

From Ruggero!!!

We have travelled in many countries and stayed in dozens of hotels but we have found none better. Francesca and Carlo are truly lovely people who made our stay in the town a real joy. The accommodation and breakfast are also of the highest standards. It is ideally placed for visits to Florence Arrezo and lovely mountain villages. A wonderful stay and thank you once again, we will not hesitate to return if visiting the Florence area.

We spent five wonderful nights at this lovely hotel tucked away in the Tuscan hill town of Loro Ciuffenna. This renovated boutique hotel is a true gem. It is an ideal location for touring the hill towns and scenic wine and olive growing areas of Tuscany. It is less than an hour's drive to most major tourist attractions including Florence, Siena, and Arezzo and the scenic hill towns of Pienza, Cortona, Voltera, Certaldo, Montepulciano, and many others.

There is also nearby train service to Florence and other nearby bigger cities if you don't want to deal with city traffic and parking (trick: leave early to get the best parking spots in the big cities). Parking in and around Tuscan hill towns can be a challenge. However, we followed the signs ("P") and always found a parking spot. Loro Ciuffenna has a couple of convenient parking areas, one of which is only a short walk from the hotel.

Service in the Dimora Casa Eugenia hotel is excellent and the owners, Carlo and Francesca, are charming hosts full of practical advice on the surrounding areas and general tourist information on Tuscany. Loro Ciuffenna itself also has a couple of really nice restaurants, one owned separately by the hotel itself. The hotel only has nine rooms and allocates a limited number via the standard websites so it is a good idea to contact the hotel directly if the travel websites initially say "unavailable".

We highly recommend this hotel and have already begun to spread the word among our friends. We would stay here again on any future trip to Tuscany. Although we traveled with friends (two couples), the hotel caters to all the categories of visitors mentioned below in Trip Adviser.

Room Tip: Our room was a junior suite overlooking the river flowing through town. Excellent views.

In the middle of the Toscana is a small Town in the Mountains, Loro Ciuffena, where is hidden
a supperb charming Hotel.
The Hosts Francesca and Carlo, give my wife and I, the warm feeling comming back home like
the years before. The rooms are beautifull and tastefull decorated, giving you a feeling to be at ease.
From Loro, you can reach alle the towns like Firenze, Siena, Corona, Arezzo etc. by car in an hour.
And after thes excursions it is good coming back in the relaxing Dimora Casa Eugenia.
In the evening you can choose of enough excellent restaurants in the neighbourhood in walking distance.

What great place to stay in rural Tuscany. Beautiful small hotel in a hilltop town , with great views over the river and down the valley.
The staff were so polite and genuinely pleased to see you. We were ungraded to a suite , which had a small lounge area, and a big king sized bed.
Rooms are beautifully decorated and have everything to need for a comfortable stay, with high quality toiletries in the nice bathroom.
Overall a lovely place to stay, and the route from here to Sienna was stunning. Thoroughly recomended.

Stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in 2nd half of september. If you want to experience a true tuscan town off the beaten track then visit Loro Ciuffenna. It is situated at the feet of Pratomagno (1500 m hills) where you can enjoy the beautiful nature on the hiking and walking tracks. Loro Ciuffenna is also surrounded by wineyards and olive tree plantation. You can get everything you need for daily life in the shops and supermarkets.

Casa eugenia is situated in the beautiful ancient center of Loro Ciuffenna. A young very nice couple own this 13 century remodeled home. The walls are very thick.

The beds are italian style. That means as a couple you have to share one blanket. We first had to get used to it. But maybe one can get normal blankets one for each person. We did not ask for it.

When you stay at casa eugenia you feel like being home. Carlo and Francesca are very helpful and friendly. They try to give you the best support for exploring of the best and nicest places and events.

The breakfast is very delightful (selfmade cake) and diverse.

I have never experienced such a perfect service anywhere else!

Room Tip: We had the room "Verde". "Verde" has best WiFi quality! View on the front yard...

What can I say about this hotel? Our first trip to Italy and we could not have been made to feel more welcome by our charming hosts Carlo & Francesca. The hotel is amazing and completely complements the glorious region of Tuscany. Sienna is an absolute must visit, as is Florence and the local town of Arezzo. Carlo & Francesca could not have been more welcoming and were kind enough to book tickets for the Uffizi gallery and find out details for train times for trips to Florence and Rome as well as advising on other places for us to visit. To say the service was excellent would be a complete disservice to the owners and their wonderful hotel. This will not be our last visit to Tuscany, Italy, or the Dimora Casa Eugenia.
