“Dream wedding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

My husband and I stayed in Bagni di Lucca for five months last year, and after proposing to me in this wonderful village, we decided to get married there 9th of June 2012. If it had not been for the management and the staff at the Hotel Corona, this wedding would not have been the most perfect and romantic wedding we could have possibly imagined. Roberto, the manager, went beyond helpfulness in organising our fairytale ceremony, a beautiful outdoor lunch in the park, and a super romantic dinner on their rose covered terrace facing the river and the wonderful view of the village. We have stayed at the Hotel Corona three times, and everytime we are met with perfect hospitality and a "make you feel like home" attitude. The rooms are pretty and clean, and have stunning views over the river and the village. Having breakfast in the summersun on the lovely terrace is such a romantic experience, and will set the mood for the rest of the stay. The salt-water pool is situated at their other hotel, only a few hundred metres up the road, and have lush and large sunbeds, and is enclaved by a beautiful flowery garden. Bagni di Lucca has become our favourite holiday destination. If you need to get away from the stress of a hectic life, this is the perfect get-away spot, where calmness will surround you, and there are plenty opportunities for day trips to Florence, Pica, amazing Lucca, the beach and hiking in the mountains.

I will definitely reccomend Bagni di Lucca as a vacation spot, and Hotel Corona as the place to stay for everyone with a romantic soul and the need for beautiful surroundings.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a view over the river!

My husband and I stayed here while in Bagni with family. The room was sweet, very simple and clean, with a great view. The breakfast was incredible! Served on an adorable terrace overlooking the river. Great spot, excellent value.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view; worth the extra $

This hotel is quite lovely. The view from the balcony of the restaurant was just breathtaking as it sits right by the river with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the service top-notch. Hope to return some day.

We have just returned from Tuscany and the second week we stayed at the Corona Hotel in Bagni di Lucca which is north of Lucca in a valley with the River Lima flowing through, surrounded by tree covered hills and wonderful scenery. The hotel was very comfortable, very clean, the staff were very friendly, and the hotel owner Roberto was most welcoming and helpful. Our room at the front of the building was spacious, other rooms at the back overlooking the river were slightly more expensive. Breakfasts were extremely generous and enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the river in the morning sunshine. If you can cope with winding roads with hairpin bends, this is a wonderful place to visit tiny villages perched on top of hills and just marvel at the wonderful scenery. We thoroughtly recommend this hotel.

This was our second visit and we hope to return. A spacious room with a balcony overlooking the river was excellent value for money. The food was great, especially the fresh fish and delicious olive oil; some of the best food I have eaten in Italy. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Bagni di Lucca is an interesting village and a good place to chill out for a few days, and well paced for touring the Garfagnana.

Room Tip: Riverside rooms are quieter than those facing the road.

My wife and I spent four great nights at the Corona being lulled to sleep by the fast flowing River Lima. We had the small balcony room on the third floor, with a view directly over the river to the casino (casino is electronic now, but roulette was invented there, and the casino has been renovated to its past decor). Roberto is a wonderful host and will fulfill any request. The town itself is pleasant and scenic, but Bagni is a wonderful central point for driving through the Appenine and Alpen regions nearby. Day trips to Lucca, Florence, and Pisa are also easy by car. While the rooms on the river and those with a balcony are more expensive, they still represent a good value.

Room Tip: Rooms on the river are quieter and scenic.
