“Excellent location, good food, clean accomodation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Took a school ski party here April.
Fantastic location directly opposite the Viktoria chair lifts.
Breakfast was rolls, cheese, ham, cereals, yoghurts and biscuits with juice, tea and coffee. On occasions there would be croissants.
Lunch was a large bowl of tasty pasta, followed by a main course of meat & potatoes with salad then a pudding.
Dinner was also a pasta or risotto starter, with a main course and then a pudding. Food plentiful and tasty. Vegetarian options were a little repetitive for my daughter but nevertheless tasty.
Rooms are clean and tidy, a decent bathroom but a little dated.
(If you are tall don't go for the rooms on the upper floors as there is restricted head room in the bathrooms)
The staff are very helpful and very accomodating. Staff speak good English.
Bar prices very reasonable. There is a nice bar area and large lounge.
Good ski and boot areas (with boot warmers!)
During the season there is another bar at the front of the premises.
A good choice and I would return.

Just back from a week long group skiing trip and found the hotel to be ideally located for the ski runs, with very friendly staff and excellent home cooked Italian 3-course meals. Clean and welcoming.

Room Tip: I loved my room under the eves, (top floor), quiet with an amam=zing view down the valley

We spent a week in the Savoia hotel. A return trip after excelent experience a few years ago. Even better this time. Simple comfortable rooms, Excelent food and caring and profesional management who realy care about their guests and their needs or requirements.
Very well located for slopes, shops, public bus but set just far enough back from the road etc to be quiet. We hired the best skis we have ever found for hire any where from a small cellar very near by, Noleggio Outlet. At 40euros for 6 days for brand new 760euro skis no one could do better. The ski conditions were brilliant top to bottom with the Black and Red runs towards Ponte- de- Legno quiet, almost deserted on week days. An ideal hotel in an ideal place for family holiday.
We used thenarow guage train from Trento and conecting bus to get there and back. One ticket takes you right through, About 6 euros. Takes a while but spectacular journey is all part of the holiday. Info on Trentino Transporti web site.

Room Tip: Single rooms are good but hot water sometimes takes a while to run through in them.

This is a really lovely hotel to stay in. Although the rooms are a little dated and basic they provide everything you need for a ski holiday. Its a family run hotel and they are really lovely. If you speak Italian to them they will bend over backwards for you. The other staff are just as lovely! I don't know how the place would cope without the amazing Max. The location is superb! Literally walk across the car park and you are on the chair lifts. Also really close to the ski pass office and ski hire shops. The rooms provide beautiful views over the slopes and its peaceful at night which was something that other hotels had a problem with due to their location near to bars!
Theres a good sized ski/snowboard storage room with heaters. There is a well priced bar or you can take your drinks to a lounge that has a toasty fire in.
The food was very tasty and so much of it! The New Year gala dinner food was immense and they gave our table 2 bottles of wine and a bottle of bubbly. (Other hotels made you pay for alcohol on New Year). Each night there were different food menus and nothing was a disapointment.
I would definitely go back!

We have just returned from our first trip to Passo Tonale staying at the Hotel Savoia and what a great trip it was!!
I was a bit concerned after reading the mixed reviews on here but I have to say that we had a great experience at Hotel Savoia, the staff are so friendly and helpful and the position could not be better for the ski lifts and meeting point for the ski school which are both a 200 metre walk.
The food in the the Hotel was excellent we stayed half board, the breakfast was a buffet affair and you helped yourself to cereal, croissants, fruit, ham/salami, cheese, bread, biscuits, boiled eggs and plentiful coffee, tea and juice drinks.
Whilst at breakfast you could make your selection for the evening meal, there was always plenty of choice and everything we had was very good quality, the head waiter Max works very hard and is always very there to serve/help you.
We stayed over New Year and the hotel put on an excellent 5/6 course meal with entertainment in the form of a musician who had an uncanny resemblance to James May from the Top gear programme!!
The rooms are comfortable if a little dated with plenty of hot water clean towels and are very warm on your return from the slopes.
The ski locker is a good size with heated rails for your boots and plenty of storage for skis.
Prices for drinks in the hotel are reasonable which is the case all over Passo Tonale.
Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to this hotel

With family and friends I have stayed at the Savoia for the past two years and will be making a return visit in Feb 2012. The hotel is indeed a typical 3 star rating and the food isn't al'carte, but you get what you pay for.

A family run business where all the staff bend over backwards to provide the highest level of service sets the Savoia apart from the other hotels with the same rating. The rooms are basic and clean and most views from the window cover the picturesque mountain backdrops. The ski locker has plenty of room to store skis and loads of heating rails for your ski boots.

The quality of food, albeit, not a wide selection, is excellent and always filling, perfect after a hard days skiing. The wine, and in particular the Castel Firmian Sauvignon Trentino 2008, is an excellent vino and accompanies most meals and after your second bottle the aches and strains of the days skiing magically vanish.

The location is also first rate, a 100 yard flat walk gets you to the heart of the lifts and the excellent slopes, open to skiers of all abilities.

This hotel does lend itself to school groups which I think is a positive, as it brings life to the hotel and adds to the enjoyment of the whole skiing holiday.

We are always reluctant to leave when our holiday is over, as it's like saying goodbye to family members as the staff wave you off at the door.

So, if you are looking for a family friendly, staff friendly and fantastic value for money stay, then the Hotel Savoia is the place for you.

We're just back from a ski vacation deal we got thought ski-deal in Israel.
The destination was Passo Tonale, in the Italian Alps (Dolomites).
I decided to write this review since we were positively surprised by the hotel.
It is a 3 star hotel, and surely not outstanding by any extravagant standards, but we enjoyed very much the attitude of the staff / owner(?), and it is a very good ROI for the rate you pay (we got it part of a deal, but the price list in the room mentioned between 45 and 90 Euro).
The rooms are small, but offer quiet sleep and are warm.
We stayed half-board. The food is not a gourmet one, but is fulfilling, satisfying and good. For breakfast, for example, you had hot and cold drinks (juice machine), fresh rolls, ham (or Salami) and cheese, hard boiled eggs, cereal & milk and a sweet croissant-like one would kill for... (very airy and tasty!)
Dinner would include a starter (soup or pasta and such), main dish (veal, pork, fish or beef - depends which day) and a nice desert.
The TV room proved us the gathering space we wanted at the end of the day. It also provided wireless internet, for which you can purchase an internet-card which gives you 5 hrs (accumulative, not needed to be taken at once) for 5 Euro - very reasonable in my eyes. If you do not have your laptop with you, you can use your internet card on their desktop, situated in a small booth in the lobby. It even has a printer connectd - so maybe not your fancy 'business center' but surely good service.

The town itself is a small one...(village? population ~250 or so).
The slopes are best suited for beginners and intermediate skiers. Serious skiers can probably cover most of them within a day or two. So, if you are there for a week, and are intermediate or higher, you surely want to expand your ski-pass to include also pontodilegno.
The town has a ski (and snowboard) school. The slops are very wide and comfortable.

My son had fun in the local disco-pub of Antares.

All in all, a small place, with good value for the money, and a positive surprise from this little hotel we stayed in - the hotel Savoia http://www.hotelsavoia.net/inglese/indexing.htm
