“Fantastic views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

The Hotel is fabulous, it meanders along the coastline with 4 seperate pools 3 of which have waterfalls from one to another so in total 6 small pools & 1 pool you could swim lenghts in.
There is a larger private beach with umberellas & reclining chairs and then there is also another smaller beach. The beach areas are very covey with pathways through the trees & rocks. You could sunbath somewhere different every day ! We had no problems finding sunbeds - no getting up at the crack of dawn to put your towels out ! And we often moved later in the day.
The sea - AMAZING !! It is a lovely cool temperature & so clear, there are loads of fish more where you can stand than if you swim out, the snorkelling is fantastic our 7 yr old son was hooked ! (Take a bread roll down & the fish flock to you). You get beach/pool towels on arrival which are included, I think it was 2 euros if you wanted to exchage for clean.
The rooms were lovely, we were slightly disappointed initially as it was different from most hotel we have stayed in, very quaint - but please don't be put of with this as they fit in with the look off the rest of the hotel. The bathrooms are spacious & supply shower gel & shampoo, also the hair dryer is very good (tip when drying your hair prop open the door to the bedroom to get the air con) There is plenty if storage in a lovely walk in wardrobe and extra drawers. There are no room safes but you can get a safety deposit box at reception which you can access as much as you want to.
If you can get a sea facing room or even a ground floor room as you can walk out of your balcony to the pool areas (there is an extra charge for this though)! Tip if the beds are too firm for you put a blanket under the sheet .
Breakfast is continental style overlooking the sea, lunch is either in the restaurant or in the beach bar - lots of pasta (well it is Italian) again over looking the sea, evening meal was in a seperate restaurant - 4 courses very nice.
However you can walk to Baia for much more choice on food & drinks which is the main reason we had picked the hotel which is 5mins Max ! You could of even swam there !
The highlight though is on an evening sittiing in the bar looking out over the sea & the Islands in the distance and watching the sun set. The views are spectacular and you are always noticing something different - you think they empty & then when the sun goes down all the twickly lights can be seen.
If you are adventourous go into Baia & rent a speed boat we were quoted 100 euros for the full day plus gas (approx 50) some people we met did it & you can go all round the Islands they really enjoyed it & very good value.
Porto Cervo is also a must see for all the HUGE boats & designer shops - just be vary were you drink as they are more expensive here, we found the Ferrari to be most reasonable.
We LOVED this hotel & would return in a heart beat ! Carribean beach & sea only 2hr 20 mins away.

Great location for this Hotel with fantastic pools and a private beach. The views from the room are great as well. However we were concerned w/ the lack of information by the front desk, the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept on, towels with holes in them and other amenities. Two other additional money hungry aspects that weren't exactly enjoyable is them charging for internet! 5 euro for an hour or 12 euro for 5 hours and the connection was very spotty. Finally they will provide you towel to take down to the beach but if you would like a clean one for the next day or 3 days later that will be an additional 2 euro. We don't appreciate this when you are spending this type of money on a room! Basically the room itself was nice, great view and fantastic pools and beaches but they need to make some changes!

Just come back from a fantastic week at this hotel. It's perfect for relaxing, the food was delicious, staff very friendly and efficient, the views were magnificent. Its very worth getting a sea view room and the hotel interior is typical italian decor and offers a real Italian experience. The pools were lovely and refreshing. The town of baia has lovely restaurants and beach. Loved this hotel and the location would definitely come back.

This could be a great hotel. The location is superb. The food, service, gardens, pools and grounds are lovely. The local village with restaurants, bars and a great sandy beach is a short walk away. The only disappointment are the old fashioned bedrooms with worn out carpet and dated bathrooms.

Wonderful 2 weeks in excellent hotel:food-delicious, staff-friendly and efficient, cleanliness-perfect, towels changed daily & bedlinen alternate days. carpets keep the rooms quiet (no clacking heels above). The style of the hotel is 'Provencal' and suits the island, Added to that, the views were amazing, the sea pleasant to swim in and the sun shone all day, every day -AND we had wonderful sunsets! The many steps in the beautiful grounds could cause problems for people with walking difficulties.

Great views, fantastic food - food most likely the best part of this hotel, BUT, the hotel is really old fashioned, air con in rooms is a bit weak and the general decor in this hotel is frankly old -1970's style, really needs a refurbishment. The rooms look like something from an old film set,

Also, everything is an extra, so bottled water costs about 6 euros, even if you are half board. Wi fi is not included, about 4 euros for fifteen mins. For the cost of staying here, you'd expect wi fi to be included.

I want to be fair here, it might be the case that a lot of the above comments could equally apply to other hotels near to this one as they all looked a bit dated.

Food excellent beach Devine however rooms are shabby and in dire need of redecoration . Our family were given 4 rooms overlooking the Parking lot! This is not what you expect after traveling thousands of miles for a dream vacation. Rooms do not have tea or coffee making facilities. our carpet was dirty - and stained and cupboard musty. So think carefully before you book this hotel - and if you do be prepared to pay for a sea view room otherwise you will really be better off staying at home

Room Tip: Upper level rooms
