“The perfect place for a peaceful escape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I visited the villa for our wedding anniversary in September and had a wonderful time. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome, even lending us bikes and a map for a great day trip round the top of the lake. Our room was clean and cosy, and you couldn't beat the beautiful view from the breakfast terrace. The only thing we will do differently when we return is hire a car, because without one the number of local restaurants within walking distance is pretty limited. I wish we could have stayed longer.

I spent hours researching places to stay on Lake Como and settled on Villa Tres Jolie based upon the outstanding reviews it received on Trip Advisor. It was even better than I hoped. Our group of 4 couples had a wonderful stay.

A big objective of our stay on Lake Como was access to the cycling climbs near Bormio and Bellagio. Dani, Giuglio and Roger were all very helpful with suggestions and tips on where to ride and how to get there. If you want to cycle (road or mtb), this is a great place to use as a base. When we weren't riding, they gave us great advice on places to see and eat in the area. There are countless other things to do on Lake Como besides cycling including hiking, boating, windsurfing, sightseeing and shopping. You don't need to spend much time researching everything before your visit. You can count on Dani's expertise on the area for excellent advice.

We had two deluxe rooms and two classic rooms. The deluxe rooms are beyond compare. The classic rooms are small but beautifully appointed with balconies and great views of the lake. Our room looked south over the lake and I took photos from our room of the lake and mountains at sunrise every morning. Breakfast every day was outstanding and our dinner one night made by Giuglio was special.

The villa is just far enough up the mountain to have a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains but still within an easy walk down to the towns along the lake where many great restaurants and stores are located.

Tip: When you first arrive and start driving up the hill, watch carefully for the small Villa Tres Jolie sign on the left side of the roadway pointing to the driveway on the right. The driveway becomes very narrow and you don't see the Villa right away but it is short. You'll think you arrived at Nick Clooney's estate, it is that nice.

We went on a one week walking holiday at Villa Tres Jolie. It was a very relaxing week with the walks starting about 10am after a breakfast which had a huge variety of cereals, bread, fruit, yoghurt, cakes etc etc. The walks had plenty of places of interest en route and each lunchtime we stopped at a trattoria for over an hour for wonderful food and wine and then walked downhill on the return! We had two evening meals included at the Villa which were so good we requested another. Dani and Giuglio were excellent guides and hosts ably assisted by Audrey and Roger. They all worked well together and we were not only collected and taken to the station but also to the Lake ferry stop. Any questions on local sights were immediately taken up and timetables and maps provided, nothing was too much trouble. As has been recorded many times by other visitors the accommodation is superb and the balcony overlooking the lake offers panoramic views and makes a great place to sit and eat or just drink.
Brilliant holiday plan to go again, many thanks.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a fantastic view but all rooms were very individual and beautifully furnishe...

We have just returned home from a two week trip to Italy which included a week at Villa Tres Jolie, and I would go back immediately if I could. Everything said in all the other reviews is true: Dani and Giulio (and Audrey and Roger) are fantastic hosts, and I don't think you could find a more wonderful place to stay. unbelievably beautiful rooms and views; incredibly delicious breakfasts and, when Giulio cooks, dinners; wonderful suggestions for places to visit, including precise directions and timetables for doing so. And two great dogs on top of it all. Definitely do at least one walk with Dani and Giulio; it is a great chance to see the area in a different way.
We loved every minute of our visit, and will dream of a return.

From the moment you arrive you know you are in heaven and that feeling never leaves you! Dani, Giuglio, Roger and Audrey have thought of everything to make your stay so truly memorable ...so all you have to do is relax and take in the amazing views and soak up the fantastic hospitality. I have stayed in hundreds of places all over the world and not many would I go back to, but this luxurious B&B is already on our list for a revisit. One not to miss.I always say it's the people that make it memorable but here you have it all...fantastic views, beautiful B&B and a wonderful family to look after you. Thanks to you all see you soon !!

Room Tip: we had a room with two balconies overlooking the lake...amazing

I won't delve into how beautiful this B&B is as this has been covered extensively before.

All of Lake Como & the surrounding areas are absolutely stunning and I am pretty sure lots of the accommodations have the same stunning views. What makes this place special is the family who runs it.

I know most of us from trip advisor land spend hours over hours researching to make the best of our holidays. When staying here, Dani will do this for you so you in turn can relax both at the hotel & the days counting down to it. Danni’s recommendations are spot on be it restaurants, day trips, half day trips and absolutely everything in between.

Go here for a beautiful stress free holiday and make sure you take some time off not doing anything at all & just sit back, relax and enjoy this place.

Lastly, make sure you do dinner at least one of the days (preferably more) when you stay here.

Room Tip: The deluxe rooms are really special but if you're on a tight budget the standard rooms are just...

All the reviews are right and this is just a lovely place to stay. The actual building is beautiful and the craftmanship excellent. The views are to die for, no matter what the weather, and the whole atmosphere and friendly welcome are to be remembered for a long time. We visited in April, two couples, as an early birthday pressie to me. The other couple had been before and raved about it but it exceeded all my expectations. Dani and Guilio are a brilliant couple and nothing ever seems too much trouble. Every morning Dani will give you a new place to visit and advise where the best cake shops are (Thank you Audrey also), where to park, what to look out for. Her restaurant recommendations were also excellent and great food and wine were enjoyed in fairly large quantities. One of the best was the meal cooked by Guilio with an excellent wine and good company.
The view looks different every morning and the lakeside walk is a winner although it ended fairly abruptly when we were there but the plan is to continue it and I look forward to getting further around the lake next visit.
Anna's review said it all for me - we arrived as strangers but I feel we did leave as friends and I hope to go back again and do some of the things we were unable to fit into our week there last time.

If you get the chance to go - GRAB it with both hands.

Room Tip: Any room would be lovely, we had one of the deluxe with two windows overlooking the lake and it was...
