“What a great spot!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

This hotel was part of a package organized by Walkers' World out of Toronto. We were a group of 17 and upon arrrival our bags were taken by porters to our rooms..easy peasy! We stayed for a week. Was worried because of previous reviews, but I had a great room, #6, with a huge balcony, beautiful bathroom, and comfy bed. Room was spotless. Lobby area was neat, and also spotless. I must disagree with previous posters about the food. I found it excellent! You are in Italy, after all...it ain't gonna be roast with mash and veg! One of our group was celiac, and maitre d' ensured she got gluten free at every meal...toast, cereal, pasta etc! Location is excellent, an easy walk into the village, which is wonderfully Italian and quaint. Hotel bus to Sorrento a treat, but easy enough on public transport too. Barman was nice, glass of wine €4, but I guess standard for hotel. Good wine by the bottle available in village grocery stores though...LOL.
Only two complaints: no wi-fi except in the lobby, at a cost of €5 for an hour! Get into the 21st century, people! This was a major pain. Secondly, no ice machine! Bartender could not be persuaded to provide ice for guests who might have wanted a martini in their room. More importantly, as we were on a walking trip, one of our guys wanted to ice his knee but thebarman feared for his job by providing ice!
All in all though, would definitely recommend this hotel. Front desk staff were amazingly helpful too.

We booked this Hotel on a last minute holiday 6 days before arriving. On first impression the Hotel seemed very quiet and we requested to pay for an upgrade to a Sea View with Balcony-- we were not disappointed the view from the higher floor was stunning -- The room was very bright, clean & spacious with Maid service every day. We stayed on a Half Board Basis-- both the Breakfast & evening meals were delicious with plenty of choice. All the staff were fantastic. Free Shuttle Bus although not available on a Sunday ( the driver did try to overtake on sharp bends and could have taken more care but it seems that is the way everyone drives in Italy!
To summarise we will definitely return & recommend this Hotel--- Just Lovely .

Room Tip: Upgrade to a sea view with Balcony

On arrival at hotel porter was there to take suitcases. which were promptly located to our room. Some rooms a little dated, but expected. A few have been Refurbished. Cleanliness excellent. Clean towels every day. Rooms tidied if needed. Staff were helpful. Would have been nice to see the manager of hotel mingle with guests. Was seen but at a distance.
Food was good but was repeated week later. Breakfast was a good selection for all. Nino head waiter was freindly. as was all the staff in the Restruant. Head waiter in bar was excellent. polite and profesiomal.
The hotel has good mini bus service down to Sorrento. Morning and evening.
If your a walker you may enjoy the walk down to Sorrento (30 mins) from hotel. But you may think twice about walk back up (60 mins). with a few dtops on the way. So book mimi bus for return to hotel. Buses pass hotel regular.

Room Tip: Room 91 could be a problem for some guest due to traffic passing.

There was about 20 of us staying for a wedding in the town, there were people arriving on different days and times throughout the weekend. The hotel was very clean and tidy. The staff were experionaly helpful, there was a porter to carry bags on arrival, we arrived late but they had kept the restaurant open for us and the meal was lovely.

The receptionists were helpful and there English was excellent. The bar man was also helpful, remembered our room number and what we were drinking almost imidiently. The head waiter, I think his name was niño ( probably spelt wrong) was brilliant. Very friendly, extremely efficient. He organised a big table for us on our last night. He was brilliant with all the children in our party and nothing was to much trouble. The wine waiter was equally as helpful as we're all the staff.

Now the food...the food was amazing. Well presented, hot. A really good choice every night, even the buffet night there was so much to choose from. I wash very impressed with the food, and the coffee served at breakfast was out of this world too.

The room was clean and tidy and pretty big. Tv, sky, big shower and clean towels every day. We had a balcony which was nice to sit out on at night.

The pool was very clean and the area surrounding was nice too.

I would def return again and would like to thank all the staff for a great stay. Kelp up the good work.

We stayed here from 1-8 October. Booked a late deal the day before arriving, we are a couple aged 51 and 52 (young 50 's may I add).
Hotel - as described in the brochure, stunning views over Sorrento.
Pool - excellent but a little cool, but once you are in its ok, very clean. At the most, 8 people sat around it.
Hotel room - this is what let it down for us, in a way. We were given room 93, away from the main block, down some steps behind the pool. Set of 4 rooms , which are actually on the right hand side near the main gate. Room was a twin, with window, no balcony etc.. Small window looking to hotel drive. Standard room size, bathroom ok but bit shabby, damp on wall near 'window'. But adequate. We're offered another room on top floor of hotel, slightly bigger, but so very darj and still no balcony. We decided to stay put and actually were ok as the room was nice and quiet, and close to the pool area. We could have changed room but at a high cost.
Food - ignore other comments that say not good!!!! . Food was good and plentiful. Starters enormous, good sized main and usually cake, ice cream, fruit for puds. The chap in charge of the restaurant a real charmer, which was nice.
Trips - we went on the hotel organised trip to Mt Vasuvius and Pompei, in a day. DO NOT listen to the guide when you get to Pompei re lunch and where to eat. She guides you to the cafe next to where the coach drops you off, 13 euros for set menu, sounds good, but awful meal. Cross the road towards the entrance to Pompei and you will find lots more on offer. I am sure she is on some sort of seal with the cafe, she at least gets here lunch free.
Walk down the hill to Sorrento - took us 25 mins the first day and 30 the next. Quite steep but I wore flip flops and managed ok. Worth doing, and the hotel bus back is great and free !

Take a stroll around the village to the back of the hotel, the ice cream parlour is a must, you can't miss it, is has a six foot ice cream at the front.

Room Tip: Don't worry about room 93, it's ok. Bottle of water with your evening meal is 3 euros, good...

On arriving which took about 2 hours from the airport cause there were a planned march. The hotel managed to organise a room with a balcony when we got there at the cost 140 euros but did not complain cause we had fantastic views (Room No 3) and it was worth it.

The hotel food is very hit and miss the pasta is great and after eating that you were served the second course so felt pretty full. The portions are large and you will not go hungry. The head waiter is a cheeky chappie and you can have some banter with him!! Sorry forgot his name but you cant miss him he is dressed for dinner every day!! The breakfast is adequate as continental goes and it fills a hole but i was disappointed that they used tined fruit but i suppose they cater for lots of visitors to the hotel and its less costly and easier to prepare.

We did eat out at Mimi's one night which was ok but my partner probably could have cooked better.

The village of Sant Agata is small and there is not really much happening did visit Cafe Central one night was ok but a bit young but Orlando's was lovely and very local. The bottle of prosecco was 10 euros cheaper than the hotel which was 20 and they gave you lovely little nibbles too.

The hotel bar is not cheap but its convenient. Lunch time snacks are worth the money we ordered the fried squid and prawn that was delicious and there is enough to share too.

The rooms do need updating a little especially the bathrooms - the shower cubicle was so little and i am only a size 8!! it was a bit hot in the room too at night as there is no air con which i think in the summer months will be very uncomfortable.

Watch out for the mozzies too i never get bitten and i did and nothing really worked either with lotions and potions!!

The shuttle bus was very good but you need to book in advance cause it gets full and the Sita bus from Sorrento was on 4.80 euros for 2 a single trip. We also did the boat trip to Positiono and Amalfi well worth it but it was from the leaflet from the hotel which was 38 euros with pick up from hotel and you get plenty of time to visit the sites too.

The beds and the pillars are a bit uncomfortable but its what you expect really when you are abroad and not at home.

Overall the hotel was a 3 star not 4 and best location too.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a balcony
