The hospitality and convenience of the White Lodge helped make our recent trip to Ireland a happy and memorable one. My sister and I traveled with our almost 90 year old mother to revisit the area of her childhood in the royal county of Meath. In addition to a nice, warm room on the ground level, comfortable beds, modern bathroom, easy carpark, tasty Irish breakfasts, internet access, central location (on the Dublin Navan Road and short walk to Trim Castle), our congenial host Tod made every effort to make us feel welcome; answering questions, offering suggestions, and even providing pots of Barry's tea and good coffee when we relaxed in the living room. While most of our days were spent in the Meath area, from the White Lodge, we took day trips to relatives and friends in Kildare and Wicklow (little over an hour away), and Belfast (little over 2 hours). It was nice at the end of the day to return to a toasty room, and then wake up to the hearty breakfast with everything from organic yogurt to those delicious Irish sausages. And the price was right, too. Thank you to Tod and The White Lodge.
