“Beautiful weekend in Pillion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in September. Our room was awesome - very comfortable bed, great decor, awesome view from our shuttered windows (nice touch). The rain shower and side jets were awesome. We ate dinner at their restaurant one evening, but felt that the menu was not authentic Greek. It seemed to be more continental. The greek salad was delicious. The staff are very nice and friendly. The area, Pillion, is absolutely beautiful and 12 Months is a great spot to take in the views of the mountains and Aegean.

Room Tip: The higher rooms have nicer views.

Had a bit of a hairraising drive up the mountain as being typical english wanted to arrive quicker after long flight .the short cut included dodgy roads with sheer drops and very impatient greek speedy driver forcing me to faster than id like to go .suggest you take the longer route from volvos Via Neochori the roads are a lot less hairraising with pleasant views and easy drive to the resort used this route on the way back to volvos .infact even on the short cut kept stopping tO take photo of beauty spots then realised the whole route was absolutely cramped with Beauty spots which commonplace ,not a rarity like some other countries .

An amazing resort where all staff are completely dedicated to fulfilling your wishes .all staff kind and courteous and freindly even patient when I attempted my very basic greek indulging me in Greek conversation without laughing at my greek pronounciation as my good greek frends do at times .there are amazing views from this sight and the al fresco dining is fantastic !you can also eat inside if you wish the swimming pool and general ambiance of hotel is perfect .Fay the spa manager is excellent at massage and her support staff ie hairdressers etc were also very skilled at their craft we really took advantage of this facility spent lots real good value for money .Erinini another manager was extremely helpful providing tour tips and help and support both onsite and regarding Greece in general amazing lady very special .the rooms were also fantastics more like little log cabins we stayed in deluxe room number xx with real ocean view Wow !At heart I am a cruiser therefore was coming to Greece expecting a standard hotel stay however got a taste of fantasy island . The hotel rooms includes air conditioning ask how to use it , as they may forget to show you .Also if you have a wild night out with your greek friends and come back really late don't use the front entrance as locked but around the back there is another entrance that is permanently opened so can get in (we only realised after half an hour pressing faces against glass door ,trying to get get attention at front door then another resident returned home after great party and calmly peeled us from the front door and showed us the way cheers )brilliant view by tennis courts . Also pool and table tennis on site Free to guests ).would thoroughly recommend this resort and I'm normally quite a fussy customer.definately coming back next August hence though I wanted to originally tell you all my room number I've Removed it so I can get it on my next trip ( sorry folks )

Book this place you won't regret it.oh yes one final tip bring some mosquito repellant and bug spray and suntan lotion its hot here Pilloin has wasps and a few bugs .

Room Tip: Deluxe room great if travel as party of three or 4 same price.ocean view or garden view best

We ve visited 12 many times. We ve actually had our wedding night party 3yrs ago. Each time we go they improve. The location is unique, In the forrest, quite with amazing view. The specific area of Pilion is truly beautiful. It combines the green cool atmosphere of the Forrest with the picture like blue sandy beaches with high rocks as their background. The rooms are quite different from each other but each one we ve stayed is spacious, clean and quite. Breakfast is above average comparing to other Greek hotels. The pool is really nice on a hot summer day. The spa facilities are inspiring and you have to spend some time on the sauna especially if you visit on a cold winter weekend. If you like sauna, jacuzzi or other spa facilities it is one of the best places to visit in Greece. We ll definitely visit 12 again!

I stayed there only for one night at the end of June.the hotel is in beautiful surroundings with breathtaking views.arriving you are welcomed by very friendly receptionists. The room didn't have a view but was very spacious, with a living room,a big bedroom and a well-designed bathroom. The whole room combines tradition with modern characteristics.there was also a kitchenette with coffee-making service. Outside a small patio with a rocking chair.
I only tried breakfast at the time of closing so I didn't see the whole variety of snacks.still I ordered an extra omelette and an iced coffee which came free of charge.all in all i think breakfast is just above average.
Tsagkarada is a beautiful place and 12 months is a fine option id you get a good deal.

We booked a week half board here with Travel Republic at what I thought was a very good price. Unfortunately, that meant that the room was one from the bottom of the pile. I did ask for another room with a private terrace but was told that they were fully booked for the weekend but they would see what they could do for the rest of the week. It never happened.
As others have said, the hotel is situated in the mountains about 8 km from the coast amongst chestnut trees. It tended to be a bit windy, particularly in the mornings and could be cooler than on the coast at night.
This is a 'design' hotel that has only been open since 2008 so is still in good repair and we loved the modern features of the rooms even though our room was rather dark with two windows and no patio door. There was a public terraced area to the side of the room with chairs and a parasol which we use though.
The big plus was that the bed was large and supremely comfortable - well done - so many hotels skimp on this aspect but we slept very well. There were effective mosquito screens at the windows and we weren't troubled by insects at all. The shower was first class - a big rain shower, also a hand shower and jets that came out of the side as well if you wished.
The breakfast was buffet over the weekend was rather heavy on cakes and pastries for us but acceptable. Come Monday, a small selection was brought to the table as there were not enough people in the hotel to warrent a buffet. They were happy to make eggs and bacon for you though.
For the first three days, we very much enjoyed the food on the menu for dinner; nicely cooked and tasty. However, when the same menu was bought out every day, we began to weary of it. I do not cook the same things at home in the week and don't expect to eat it on holiday. There were 3 appetisers and 3 salads and main courses were burger and chips, tenderloin of pork and fillet of chicken. There were two or three pasta dishes and one risotto and that was it. Not much choice if you are not keen on chips or pasta, in fact, very poor. It was also rather sad sitting down to dinner when, on several occasions, there was only one other couple dining so there was no atmosphere about the place.
The staff as others have said are friendly and willing even if service was not timely (two and a half hours over dinner when there is only one other couple seated is somewhat stretching the patience).
The pool was nice although it was unfortunate that workmen were at work just below the pool so lounging around to the sound of drilling and sawing was not conductive to relaxing in that area when we were there.
The gym was not free which I thought a bit mean. There is a spa although I didn't use it. There was a bar area upstairs but no-one ever used it.
The big gripe was the music blaring out from the speakers from breakfast time through to past dinner. I want peace and quite on holiday, not to have to listen to someone else's choice of music, especially if that music is pounding out at an unacceptably loud level. It really is quite unnecessary. We seemed to be the only people about the hotel most week days so they have the music blaring away is anybodies guess. It you must put music on, it should be as a background.
The hotel to us did not seem geared up to visitors from the UK at all. There was no information booklet on what to see in the local area (nothing I think!), no information on how the airconditioning worked (the manager said she came and altered it for us but nothing changed and we never did work out how it worked), no information on what time meals were, no snack or spa menu in English, nothing. If they want to attract people from the UK I think they really need to raise their game. This hotel COULD be so good.

Room Tip: Comfort rooms are the cheapest but are small and do not have a private terrace.

We just spend the Greek Orthodox Easter in Tsangarada and stayed at the 12Hotel. Our room was perfect with a nice distant view of the sea. The hotel amenities were very good, the pool sufficient for a quick refreshing swim. Breakfast was abundant and good taken on the terrace. Above all it is the friendliness of the staff that characterised the hotel. Congratulations to all the team they made our sojourn a very pleasant one.

Room Tip: All rooms seam to have sea view

A very good hotel situated exactly in the chestnut tree forest. pure nature at its best!
very good, quick and friendly service. they will prepare you whatever you ask (meal, snack).
excellent for trekking, mountain bike. also the mylopotamos beach is just 8 km from the hotel.
nice greek taverns all over the area.
don't expect much of the gym, the kettler multi machine is not working that good.
Apart from that, everything else was perfect. but if you get easily bored bring your own toys (mountain bikes, bathing suits, snorkeling equipment, running shoes).
go to the small athos chapel at the top of the chestnut tree forest, 4 km from the hotel.
