“We enjoyed staying there”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

We liked it from te moment we entered inside, a smart modern style with some traditional touch. The room was very nice, well decorated and clean with a very efficient air-condition.
The hotel location was great for trips and only a few minutes' walk to the village center where you can find restaurants and stores.
The hotel has its own underground parking was very useful, but a little difficult to access, via a narrow cobbled road.
The staff was very friendly and helpful/ Breakfast was good and on a sunnu day served near the pool.
This place is highly recommended

I'm writing this review at the time I'm leaving the hotel.
First the good news: nice well maintained and stylish hotel.
We had a family room, was very nice for the hotel rating

Good news run out..
Service very poor, lack of staff and those existing untrained !!!
Breakfast poor but the most important very slow or non existing service
The last day there was a wedding reception
They totally messed up everything!!
Our room not cleaned until 8 in the evening and only after asking for it more than once
The excuse was the wedding..
At a certain point at 4pm we decided to get a nap..
Bad idea because the bride was leaving for the church accompanied by folk music at high decibels!!!
In a few words , nice hotel running by a family with two or three members of staff comlpletely untrained
The service is roughly for two stars but not the prices
PS: when the cleaners finally arrived to make up the room, my wife was inside the room
They asked her if they have to make up the beds also...

We have been travelling to the Pelion region for many years, and were fortunate to stay her , in the month of June.
We stayed in the old traditional building, a Pelion mansion. The room was very nicely appointed and the views rather pleasnt also. The staff were efficient and the breakfast was fine.
On the negative side-There are no evening meal facilities at the Hotel and the access to the building was rather tricky on a narrow cobbled street.
Overall-recomended.

The hotel had a great design, beautiful view and good location.
The people were very friendly and helpful. It was the true greek hospitality.
Food very tasty.Underground parking was very useful, but difficult to access, via very narrow cobble-stone road.

Room Tip: The rooms in the old mansion have a very romantic flair, but you can hear your neighbors...

We organized a last minute trip for 3 nights. We got a great offer that made it irresistible in terms of quality/value. For the first two nights we stayed in the old traditional building (archontiko) and for the last they had to transfer us to the new building. The first was a beauty while the later very spacious with a fire place (one mistake they did was that they moved our stuff without telling us and as it seems in a rush therefore clothes got wrinkled)

Location is excelent and staff friendly. Breakfast is good. We would love to have more traditional food served for breakfast (eg local pies).

It was amazing how clean the hotel is. Over all I would recommend it.

Hotel Despotiko is a traditional hotel in Portaria, a wonderful small village located in the Pilion mountain. I enjoyed this hotel, although I was there for business purposes and I didn't really use the facilities. The main advantage of this hotel is its architect style with buildings following the beautiful central Greek traditional style, something unique and difficult to find. In general, hotel is clean, staff attentive and polite, food of the best quality. Rooms are big, with perfect mattresses and pillows providing an excellent nights sleep. Heating system is effective, something important considering the low winter temps of the area. Meeting rooms are comfortable, providing a good environment for efficient meetings. The only disadvantage is the WC which in my opinion is extremely small. Nevertheless, hotel despotiko seems to be a very good choice, for relaxation in the beautiful village of Portaria.

More than professional service! Always willing to help you and suggest places to see. Very polite and effective staff by all means. Located in the traditional zone of Portaria. A mixture of traditional and modern design in decoration. The rooms are spacious with view. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety of choices. You wouldn’t like to miss it. I strongly recommend it!!
