“Good value for your money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2010

The hotel is part of a complex with a casino. Its located on the beech, some 15 minutes walk to Loutraki town (reknown for its mineral water springs and a favoured summer escape for Athenians).
Although we were part of a large and quite a noisy group the service was friendly, forthcoming and flawless.
The room, although a little small for a 5-star hotel, was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities one would expect. The bath in the bathroom was apparently planned for short people.
They have a magnificent garden and a private beech, warm and cold water swimming pools and a spacious gym with a spa.
I can recommend this hotel even to non-gamblers.

it was a nice hotel, nothing fancy, but i do believe that the price was a bit too much for our room, which view was at the mountains. it was a decient room and the casino made the difference!

Much better than what we expected!
Got a great deal ... this is the trick.... dont book from internet or the phone.
Walk into the casino after 12pm (1 person)
Pay the cover fee...
go to cusomer care in the casino and ask for the special offer for a room.
on the spot they give you up to 50% off .... wow
and the best part is you dont even have to gamble a penny ... just 10 euros cover fee.

Great spa !
Service was good too... our room had a funny smell and they gave us another one immidiatly.
Breakfast was impecable! even better than the hilton in Athens ... bravo !

I’ve stayed at “Club Hotel Casino Loutraki” 3 times during 2006-2007, on business. The hotel hosts Greece’s largest casino and guests are given a free pass to the Casino, which I didn’t use. It mainly serves as a luxury, seaside resort.
Getting to the town of Loutraki (mainly a summer / weekend resort about 80kms / 50miles from Athens) can be a bit of a trick. If you come straight from the airport the best way is to take the Proastiakos train to Korinthos (about 70minutes) and then get a taxi from there (10 minutes).

Rooms are really comfy and, unlike so many hotels, very well lit. The TV works fine and has several satellite channels. There is a “PA” system in the bathroom through which you can listen to the TV as well as a telephone so that you don’t have to rush out of the bathroom if the phone rings. The bathroom is large, handicapped-accessible (just like the hotel) and attention seems to have been paid to every detail.
The rooms are quite spacious, with a desk, a chair and an armchair. The closets are very good as well. Half the rooms have a view towards the sea (more expensive) and the other half towards the street, parking lot and the mountain (depending on your …point of view).

The buffet restaurants, offering breakfast and lunch, are excellent. Probably the best buffet meals I’ve had, or at least among the top 3. Certainly ideal for a quality pig-out! For example, the breakfast buffet offers different cakes, muffins, cheeses, yoghurts, fruit, cereals, breads, hams, scrambled eggs, sausages, oven potatos, etc
Service at the non-buffet restaurant / snack-bar is very, very slow and items quite expensive. It’s almost as if they want to force you to go to the buffet restaurant.

The hotel also has a gym and a spa (which I didn’t use), an open summer pool and a strip of pebble beach right in front of it. There is a small kiosk-like shop where you can buy magazines, press and romance books. 10-15 minutes walk away is Loutraki’s seaside promenade with many restaurants.

Computers / Internet: There is a computer cluster in the lobby, right by the reception. Use of the computers used to be free but, contrary to what the hotel’s website still says, the last time I was there (end of 2007) you had to buy a card in order to have access to the computers. The Wi-Fi network was also not free and you needed to pay through your credit card! I find this unacceptable for a 5-star hotel.

The hotel is quite expensive, if you book it on your own, with nominal prices at around 250€ /night in the off-season and 350€/night in high-season but you can find better bargains through the hotel’s website.

Conference facilities were quite good, at least from the perspective of an attendee. I certainly did not notice any problems.

  • Liked — Buffet breakfast and meals, comfortable rooms, conference facilities
  • Disliked — Not-free internet and computers, location (rather boring place for a Greek)

I booked directly ( via internet ), so I obtained a discounted rate of 170 euros for a deluxe sea view room. Room condition very nice, luxurious bathroom with jacuzzi, big balcony with wonderful sea view .
Be careful: Deluxe rooms are wonderful ( spacious , luxurious with balcony and sea view). On the other hand executive rooms are awful ( small , dreadful. no balcony , ugly mountain view )
Quality of breakfast excellent, lunch and dinner at Beep Blue restaurant just OK.
The hotel has two other very nice but pricey restaurants ( aquarium and oceanos ) .
The big problem at this hotel is service .You encounter rude , arrogant staff all the time. It is so obvious that they hate their job, as they don't hesihate to discuss the problems they have with management in front of guests. As the majority of rooms are occupied for free by casino players, staff treat all guests as if they had not paid a penny. I encountered the rudest staff at the spa reception. You sign to rent towels , which is reasonable, but during the procedure they treat you as a candidate thief of the towels. ( probably they judge from themselves ).
At the Pirates Club, where you can leave your children ( not a wise decision ) , the 3 ladies of the staff ,( they are there in order to watch over and guide our children ), were talking loudly about their boyfriends all the time.
All in all, the property has the potential to be a 5 star hotel, but with this shockingly insulting service, it is not worth the money.

We visited this hotel just before Christmas. The decorations were up. The staff was reasonably friendly. We started out in a small street view room but quickly moved to a much larger and far nicer pool/ocean view room. The hot tub and shower were great. The balcony was nice. The only pool that was open at the time was the indoor one, and it had to be closed before we got to try it out, which was one of the biggest reasons we chose this property. The staff was not so apologetic about this. We did use some spa services (facial and massage) and enjoyed those, although they were quite pricey. Breakfast was good, with lots to choose from including made to order omelettes. The bed was very, very firm. Fee for use internet was available in the rooms via ethernet or in the lobby at terminals.

  • Liked — the views from the pool side, the spa
  • Disliked — not very child-friendly, uncomfortable bed
