“Hotel rooms expensive and dreadful”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2007

This hotel is expensive. We were given a room on the 5th floor for which we were charged a premium and given to understand that there were drinks etc available from a bar etc to compensate. This was an exaggeration. There was cheap orange juice/water/coffee/nuts etc in the afternoon but this had disappeared by early evening and no alcoholic drinks were available notwithstanding the premium.
Our 'executive room' -as they called it - was dreadful. Poorly furnished, shabby, small, stained carpet. The bathroom was fine. No opening window, faced the back (oblique sea view) , air conditioner played up.
There are loads of facilities, indoor/outdoor pools. Yet more like a 2/3 star family holiday resort than the 5 star it purports to be. Place is like a circus with huge numbers of people, uncontrolled children. A general pervasive meanness.
There are marauding heavies in pale grey zoot suits with matching pale shoes walking around with 'walkie/talkies'. Feels sinister and unsettling. Hope I don't get taken out for writing this!

Spending 4 days with family on Club Hotel Loutraki we had a slightly disappointing experience .I believe that is fair to compare the quality of services and the Hotel generally, to the major well-known
5 star hotel chains (Hilton ,Intercontinental, Marriot etc.) , most of them we have been visiting as a family for the last 10
years .Club Hotel Loutraki is has nice interiors , average quality of rooms (at least the "DELUXE" type of them) ,two very good Restaurants, the excellent AQUARIUS restaurant (mostly French & Italian cuisine) and the very good OCEANOS, (seafood and sushi), and probably the biggest Casino of Europe (and naturally the biggest attraction of the Hotel) .
On the contrary to the image that the hotel wants to show , the quality of services doesn't even come close to 5 star level (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_(classification)).
At first the biggest problem of the Hotel is the (so called) "Deep Blue" Restaurant, and the quality of meals served.
They are simply unacceptable .We eventually had 2 breakfasts ,1 lunch and 1 dinner, (we payed HB) and we could hardly find anything to eat
because of the quality of ingredients and/or taste .
Also the lack of services and the absence of staff on certain departments was annoying .Many times we asked for something simple
(a glass of water or some sugar for a coffee) that it never came,
(especially on the " BLACK & GOLD LOBBY LOUNGE").Room service was average ,the room was rather small with too much furniture but had a nice big bathroom with the usual (for the class) amenities .The SPA seemed nice (it was empty),the MINI CLUB for the kids never opened ,and the internet cafe on the ground floor it was at
the middle of a hall way (not a good position with people passing by and looking on your screen).
On the other hand most (not all) of the staff and Front Desk Service was quick and polite, and so the managers of the two Restaurants (especially Mr.George of the AQUARIUS restaurant), atmosphere on both was nice the food was very good with decent wine list and silent and effective staff . The position of the hotel within the gulf view is beautiful and so (must be) the pools and the fountains at the summertime.
The casino was luxurious and really impressive .Security was tight .The underground hotel parking (also used as casino parking) was slightly neglected.
Prices: Expect around 120-200 euros for two persons for a full meal on any the Restaurants. Mostly normal rates on bars, cafes and room service .We paid around 600 euros for the room .
Conclusion: I believe it shouldn’t be your first option for a family hotel, except if a night in the casino is absolute must for you .
But without serious upgrades on standard food & services the 5star class has no meaning there.

Fantastic hotel, has everything for everyone, including lovely pool area, but the water in the pool was very cold. Ate at the Oceanos Restaurant, which was pricey but lovely meal which was something special. Booked a sea view room which had excellent facilities. One of the best hotel rooms I have stayed in. The bathroom had a spa bath and shower with a separate cubicle shower. Plenty of space to move around. The bedroom had a large double bed and a sitting area with two televisions. Plenty of wardrobe space and lovely furnishings. All very clean and neat with plenty of lighting. One downpoint was the view was obstructed by a huge palm tree, so couldnt see much of the sea view, we had paid for. Expensive but well worth it.

We stayed for 2 nights at club hotel loutraki.we had booked at a very good offer, a room with a seaview, half board.
The room was simply decorated but spacious, with 2 tvs, bulgari amenities, big bathroom.
The food was excellent, with a big variety.
Very friendly personnel.
The beach in front of the hotel had umbrellas, freeof charge.
There are outside swimming pools, inside swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi.Nearby its the casino.
The hotel is 20 minytes byfoot from loutraki, and very near to many destinations,as nafplio, xylokastro, micynae.
I believe its ideal for people that they want to relax, without being isolated, since you can arrange many daytrips.
We will arrange to stay there again for longer time as soon a s possible!!
